Microtech Hand Controller Help

I am running a microtech LT10 with the hand controller on my 13b Turbo kit car. The car hasnt been used for a while, when i started it last night the screen lit up but the display is blank. When i press the button on the left the screen just displays randon letters. The car starts and idles fine (havent driven it yet)

Any ideas for a fix?

Sounds like it's got damp--they come apart easy enough though. Inspect the circuit board for corrosion-especially where the serial port mounts onto the PCB. The lead is knackered on mine so I'm also having troubles as I'm stuck on a 'run in, no boost' map. Bloody hand controllers are a pain in the ass.

Try checking if the serial wire has gone bad or the connections not tight.. pull it off and put it back or try replacing with a different one to see if it helps.

i have just come back from having mine mapped where the same lead was used that connects my hand controller to the ecu to connect the tuners laptop to the ECU and it worked fine so i now know that is OK. I have taken it apart and all seems good on the circuit board, i checked it under a microscope and all looked normal except some slight discoloration on a small black micro chip but i dont know if they are all like it. It doesnt look burnt out but its hard to tell. Still doesnt work though :( and i have a track day coming up and i rely on the display to back up my gauges.

the greek or no handset display is a poor connection through the serial cable and or RFI noise from plugs and leads effecting the cable

unplug and replug,,, if too prone then buy a new cable
