microtech coils...where to get them...

Hey guys, I just got a microtech lt-10 for my s5 motor. I have to wire it all in still and I am sure more questions will follow but right now I am concerned with trying to get the right coils. It is my understanding that I need new bosch coils to go with the lx4 unit. The only place that I can find them is on the microtech website at http://www.microtechefi.com/microtec...?product_id=15

Is there any other coils that will work (besides the stock trailing coils) or any other aftermarket ones that I can purchase, or even anywhere else I can find these coils?

Thanks guys!
Chris

you can also use stock trailing TII coils. I wired up an FD for a friend the other day and thats what we used. He also has the x4 box.

Had tons of problems with coils. Factory coils worked for people but I had problems with them. I used the MSD blasterSS and burned them up. If I was you I will only use the Bosch coils that Microtech recommends to avoid headaches. I would also contact microtech for them.

I'm using stock TII coils with my lt10/x4 and havent had any issues whatsoever.

Is there a problem with running certain aftermarket coils with the Microtech's? Other than some people's opinions about the coils' quality...

primary resistance,, see other post

also the bosch ( german made ) 715/716 had great quality,, only ever had one fail,, and that one was attached to a bim024 running self set duty dwell

but recently that same coil has been redesigned,, now made in china,, and does not resemble the original in any way
( looking like its missing the outer case,, and the C coil is clearly visible looks like an outboard coil )

i have seen a few installed,, but am yet to judge these newer versions personally

of course,, using the same designation,, you would expect the china one is still 0.45 ohm primary resistance and 7.8 K ohm secondary

will quick test one when i get one

bumpy if i used a few sets of them.
If anything i reckon they are better then the original one.

I have not seen one crack or melt for no apparent reason like the olders use to do. And in terms of spark strength, i think they are alittle better.
