microtech and CDI box

im thinking of installing a microtech, but was curious if it also has CDI box capabilities (as in a crane cams hi-6)?

if so, then i wont have to buy a crane cams for the hotter spark....

thanks silverrotor and aaron (my fellow canadians)......im really trying to see if its really worth me getting a microtech for my mildly modded N/A.

i dont want to be the most powerful out there, but id like it to run as good as it possibly can while extracting as much power as i can safely. its alos a car i plan to be an heirloom for my kids, so id like it to have the latest electronics.

any insight aaron, silver?

Standalone is nice and gets rid of the afm but you really see a difference in tuning when you have at least some form of FI or a street port. I am sure you can make some extra power on a mildly modded n/a but you wont see any huge differences. If you have intake, exhaust, a cdi box and a standalone only I would say you may see an extra 30 hp max though tuning with the timing and fuel maps. Now if you street ported the engine the you could extract a lot more power. However having a standalone system eliminates most of the stock rats nest under the hood and from an electical stand point would make your car much more reliable. But from a mechanical stand point its still a rotary :)

bigturbo, has provided a good summary. Just to add (although you are ware of this I'm sure) Is that you are eliminating 15+ old EFI technology and upgrading to a top-of-line, fully adjustable standalone Engine Management System. It's just a HUGE bonus that you are also axing the Passengerside (Power) Harness. So no more crunchy wires for us. :)

Don't be discouraged that your car Is only naturally aspirated (NA). I purchased my unit for my s4 NA just before I transplanted an entire s5 TII Power train. A few other members have a Microtech for there NA.

Silver88gxl comes to mind. Here Is a few links.

Yeah thats why i mentioned getting rid of a rats nest. I am actually soon going to be in the same boat as a lot of people on here. I got rear ended by an uninsured person and there is some unibody damage(not too bad looking from the outside) so I can still drive it no problems, but Ill be swapping the entire drivetrain over to a n/a shell or vert shell in the next 6 months.
