Is the Microtech, or am I, missing something?
 

I've been trying to improve the streetability of my LT-8, and have run into two places that seem lacking with the unit.

1) The LT-8 lacks a voltage correction table. With my stock alternator, if I turn on the lights, or hit the brakes, the voltage goes down enough to affect my injector pulse width, which screws with my AFRs (which is especially annoying at idle).

2) The t*wat (and others?) table doesn't seem to interpolate between data points. If I want to advance my timing to improve idle before the car is warmed up, I can add 5 degrees to the 68 degree cell, but the second that it moves past 68 degrees, it jumps to the 82 degree cell.

Are both of these just issues with the unit, or am I not seeing the correct options?

I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but if your alternator is really causing that much problems, you probably want an upgrade. The stock alternator is a known weak point of FCs...

Other things, make sure you've got good grounds EVERYWHERE. Coils, LT8, block to chassis, etc. That could help your voltage situation some...

Thanks for the input, but yah, that's not the answer I want. :) My LT-8 and the injectors are running straight to the battery. Voltages change as the battery charges/warms up/load changes, it's kind of a fact of life. I'm surprised that the LT-8 has no way to compensate for this.

You're right though, I need a new alternator anyway.
