microtech?

about to order one. just want to here some opinions if i getting the right one. everyone has ther prefrences but any pros or cons on any standalone would help. just dont want to dump this loot when i really dont have it (pay mortgage or comp).just kiddin, but its alot of money installed and tuned and want to make sure this is the s@$t. also what sort of power gains should i expect? right now runnin stock turbo, fmic ,850 sec, rb turbo back, koyo rad, intake, and other lil things. and for ever is goin to rotorfest cant wait to see some sick 7's. hopefully i'll get my first 1/4 run its only been 2 years workin on this biatch.

it all depends on the person taste, some use haltech, others use microtech, megasquirt etc. but im my opinion ill say microtech all the way, ive seen 600whp 7's and almost all of them run microtech. maybe one or 2 with haltech. and with those mods you have ill say 260- 270whp supposin your running like 11 psi..

ditto, personal preference is a big factor.if you are tuning yourself and installing yourself i would suggest microtech. megasquirt is a bit more involved, you have to learn about the components to understand how to use them. a bit of a pain in the ass in my opinion but equally good in terms of tuneablity.not too familiar with haltech though.if you have a good tuner ask him what he would like to work with. most of the standalones have almost the same features, but you have to ask yourself are you gonna utilize all of them? do some more research, take your time on choosing the best for your needs. I also prefer microtech just for ease of install and it comes with a base map, so you dont need to tune right away.

ask any of the major tuners that frequent this board. I GARANTEE at least 90% of them will recommend the Haltech. I know, I asked all of them, including REted, BDC, PLuto, etc.. They all recommended the Haltech. So thats what I bought.

haltech is probably a little easier to plugin and use but for the cost factor microtech is a bit cheaper and has netted the same goals as most other standalones out there on the market.

i am being forced to get my feet wet with the haltech so i should be able to give my varying opinions on both makes fairly soon.
