The ecu needs to be sent back to microtech for a reprogram
You can pm and i can have it done for you and shipped back to you. |
You do not have the send it back. I had a customer with the same problem, I contacted Microtech and this the response I got:
"That unit is set up for the FC but will work on the FD no problems" "You will need to do the timing adjustment using the "static" function in the ECU You will need a value of around 7-10 in there for the timing to be correct You will need to mark out the FD pulley like a conventional style pulley to double chack your marks as the factory mark is 20deg atdc for T1 (which is frigging stupid if you ask me) Back yourself up by checking the timing on all the plugs if you think something is not correct Everything else will be the same & it should run with no problems The only thing that is different is the timing.Do what I said & just double check & you can't go wrong (if there are any problems that's the only place they will be) Jon" |
How about if one is setup for a 20b, would i be able to use it on a 13b t2? or do i have to ship it back to microtech? how much would it cost me to have it worked on?

I have never seen that method before.
THey have never ever suggested it to me. If it works great. I wouldnt personally take the risk. I would have it done properly. |
If it was set up for a Honda, sure send it back to the factory to be reflashed for the FD, but there is no reason to ship a FC unit halfway around the world (literally) to set up the static timing for an FD. If this is something that you can't handle then you probably should not be installing an aftermarket EMS.
It has nothing to do with the crank angle sensors, the pick ups for the FD are 12-1 and FC 24-2, but the CAS rotates at half the speed of the eshaft equalling 12-1. What I posted previously is straight from Jon at Microtech. The other thing that I noticed is that the FC IAT needs to be installed. |
