Lt8s - won't let me change anything or view charts

I have a s4 t2 with a lt8s. My buddy bought a dongle and I needed to tweak my tune a little, so hooked everything up and it will not let me do anything at all. Tps is not being read. The gauges work but that's all. If I click on 3d maps it does nothing. Cant make any changes to anything. I tried everything. Hook it up to his and everything is normal.

Is the dongle/software keyed? Like can only be used with his ecu. Any ideas?

I've read that they can be locked. Any way to tell for sure? When I hook it up it didn't ask me for a pin or anything, just brought me to the main screen with the digital gauges that's all

If it was locked then you would know, but when their lock you have to put a pin to program. Are you attempting to connect to com #1 or com#2? Another option normally my method is press the f1 key or f2 for a quicker way. If its still not working then make sure the laptop is reading the dongle cable. Sometimes when your using a newer laptop and your utilizing the USB cable that converts 9 pin serial they come with software to install. Last option is a bad dongle cable. All these are issues I've dealt with tuning microtech....

I use f4 to connect. It reads the ecu no problem gauges on the screen work fine. I change modes or adjust anything though. The cable and dongle work fine, everything works on his ecu no problem. We're using the same dongle, cable, computer and program

Anyone? I can't drive this thing till I can tweak the map it's running dangerously lean at idle and cruise and crazy rich under boost

And my post above this should of read "I can't change modes or anything"

If you can't switch modes but when you use the same dongle on another microtech it works fine. Then obviously is must be locked about a year ago I ran into the same situation with an fc. The ecu was locked we had no pin, about an hour fiddling with it I unlocked the ecu. How did I do it? Well I was using a hand set instead and turn the ecu on and off repeatedly when I stumbled across something! The ecu in the first screen when I initially turned it on was exposing the pin for like a couple of seconds and then it would go away. So I wrote the pin on a piece of paper went to the screen to type it in and open sesame...... This is just my experience!

But shouldn't it prompt me to enter a pin when connected if it were locked? It doesn't bring anything up just brings me right to the main screen with the digi gauges

Check screen 32 scroll to see if it shows "lock On" or "Enabled". Theirs 2 different locks on the MT, Ecu lock or Program lock. Ecu lock requires a pin and is a full system lock. The program lock disables the program button. So its possible its on program lock so go to screen 32 and see if it shows lock on or enabled...lmk what happens

Ah!! I remember when I was scrolling through the screens there was about 3 that said LOCK and it said "pin" after it with I think 3 sets of 2 numbers. It all makes sense now.

Guess I need to try to track down who had it tuned, doubtful I can though so looks like I'm gonna have to send it aus to be cleared.

Thanks a lot! For some reason I pictured the lock screen being something totally different so it didn't even dawn on me that was it

No problem man...

Read through the manual again. Apparently I do not have the correct pin. This is such a pain
