LT8s: Wiring up the Fans for an FD?

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this? I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to wire up the fans to run properly with a Microtech LT8s. As of now I can get the fans to work, but they're not controlled through the computer so I don't think they'll turn on when needed. Any help is appreciated. PLEASE let me know. Thanks.

I don't know about the FD fans specifically, but it's pretty easy...

Get a relay of at least 30A. Connect the common contact (normally pin 30) to a fused 12V source from your battery. Fuse it for 30A. Connect the normally open contact (pin 87) to the + side of your fan. Ground the other side of the fan to a good ground. Connec one side of the coil (either pin 85 or 86) to a 12V IGN signal. Connect the other side of the coil to the Microtech's white wire.

That is the hardware setup. In software, go to screen 29 and set "AuxFAN_ON" to the temperature at which you want the fan to come on.

^Thanks! That was actually really helpful. I'm pretty sure we got the fan situation figured out now.
