LT8s or LT10s?

Im going to be ordering a microtech soon, and im lost on wether i should get a LT8s or a LT10s. I was hoping someone on here could help point me in the right direction. Just to give you an idea of my setup ( not shure if it matters ) i have; S5 Turbo motor, 780cc primary and secondary injectors, and a FMIC. Im getting my own ignition amplifier so im not worried about that. Do i really need the extra AUX wires? Any input would be amazing!!

Is the choice only between those two ECUs, or are you considering other brands?

If the choice is only between Microtechs, then LT10s for many reasons.

Go the lt10s if you have to get a microtechs.

Otherwise in all seriousness go buy a haltech platinum 1000.

Why lt10s over lt8s?

LT10s has more I/O, and I think wideband logging is standard now.

But as mentioned above, there are better ECUs on the market today.

power FC still wastesparks the leading,, so is not sequential ignition like the micro

i dont rate it as any better,, except maybe in reliability

top choices in the low budget range are haltech platinum sport 1000/2000 and adaptronic 420C

both of these are very capable,, multiconfiguarble ,, fairly cheap top performers with excellent quality reputation

rx72c 03-29-10 10:34 PM

i dont like the adaptronic. 16X16 is shit house.

bumpstart 03-30-10 07:43 PM

adaptronic 420c is 16 ( load,, tps,, MAP,, OR a combo of BOTH ) x 32 ( rpm,, user definable selection bin values ) with 12000 or 16000 rpm limits depending on selections
not to mention the many other features your not going to get in a microtech like firmware and file sharing and USB data log

$990 AUS without loom,,, incredible value considering how many extra features it has now,, and future to come

myself,, i have an haltech E8,,and have personally used micro products for 15 years,, including self customing them ,, they dont come close to newer ECU's from other players

rx72c 03-30-10 11:40 PM

the adaptronic just doesnt do it for me.

32rpm points is useless.
id rather have 16 rpm points and 32 map points.

id use the microtech over the adaptronic.

although if adaptronic did some changes to their mapping system i.e at least 24 load points i would change over.
