LT8S injector problem

Hi,

I'm having problems getting all the injectors to fire in Test Mode (ie. change the 'config' parameter to '0cyl' from 'rotor/4cyl'). Only the primaries are firing, even though I tested the resistance of the secondaries (1600cc) to be 5ohms. I even connected the lead that came from the primary front injector to the front secondary. The front secondary now worked!

So maybe the secondary injector drives on the LT8S aren't working? How cpuld this happen? Would plugging in a primary injector (that was left disconnected before) cause this problem? At the time the ignition was off, but the battery was still connected.

Thanks,

Adrian

try turning the staging off and see if they fire

spark problems as well ...

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the Staging setting in the Data Guages screen, and it was 'ON'. I’m not sure how to set it to OFF directly. Do I have to set the RevStage, MAPStage and %Stage parameters to do this?

Also, when in Test Mode the Ignition is working (ie. I can see the pulses from my Timing gun hooked up to 'Leading').

But, when I crank the engine over (~250rpm), I get no sparks at all from the Ignition. Also I get 0 rpm readout on the Laptop software, but no errors in the Logs I took and no errors in the Data Guages screen. It's as if the ECU doesn't know the engine's turning! I rewired the Crank Angle Sensors and checked the Home and Trigger/Speed signals with an PC-oscilloscope on my Laptop and they appear to be fine and noise-free.

Is there something obvious that I'm missing? Or is there anything wrong with the ECU (the red error light doesn't come on when I've got the ignition switched on, or when I'm cranking)?

BTW I wired a thick lead directly to the Battery for the +12V connection, and then for 0V another lead like this to Battery ground. All ground wires from the ECU connect to this.

Also, is there something wrong with the LT8S wiring diagram in the manual? In the diagram I'm not sure where the 'GND (Black)' connection goes to? As its above the Crank Angle Sensor 'Home' and 'Speed/Trigger' pin-outs I connected it to the grounds that are carried along with the Home and Trigger wires, which are earthed near to the ECU in the passenger footwell.

Any suggestions as to what's going wrong here?

Thanks,

Adrian

hmm it is definatly something wrong in your wiring

to turn the stage off just set the map and rpm stg to off, remember the settings tho so you can put them back,

you should not have to ground the home and ref wires, they are grounded through the ecu it self,

there is a earth (thick black wire) run that to the battery with the thick red wire,

make sure you have the right colour wires hooked up at the CAS, you have to use the wire colours on the actuall cas it self not on the ecu side of the plug

Thanks dale, I've got the secondaries working now. I just had to set the Staging RPM and MAP to 'off' in the software.

In the LT8S circuit diagram, the GND wire above Home and Trigger goes straight to a lead that comes off the negative terminal on the battery (along with my other GND wires from the LT8S). It doesn't have anything to do with the Home and Trigger signals.

The engine almost fires up now. I think there's something wrong in the fuelling maps for 'idle' and 'crank'. It keeps switching between 6ms and 9ms whens turning over...
