LT8 startup problems

Alright now before I have to tow my car to a dyno, I'll give this a try. I have an 87 TII with a 90 motor I just put in because my last one was shot. I wired everything up an tried to start it but it would stay around 300-500 rpms really shaky, then just die. Now I've checked the cas timing and for vaccum leaks but nothings changed. I think it may have someething to do with my coils but I'm not sure. HELP!

have u tried playing around with the fuel and start up maps ad such? thats what i had to do to get mine to run. also make sure ur timing is close if u can.

Ok, I also tested all the coils and plugs to make sure that they all fire, an they do. An I have tried to retard and advance the timing with no luck, I'm not sure about what you mean by close, and I don't know about messing with the maps because it is supposse to just start right up. I could also u the name of a good dyno in the SoCal area for some help too.

Vacuum leaks will not effect the Microtech as they will the stock system. The car should still start and run even if the system is riddled with leaks...

By your symptoms, you should check the wiring around your CAS sensor. An intermittant connection will result in this behaviour.

Other then that, there is some diagnostic work you have to do....Do you get a good clean spark at each leading plug? Do your injectors leak? Have you modified the "default" maps at all? Are you sure the CAS has been stabbed correctly (it's annoying to get right)?

Alright, I triesd to start it up again and now there is an error (that little red light is blinking), so I checked it by going to the data guages an clicking ecu status and it says its an RPM error. This happen before an I rewired the CAS an it went away but now it back so I connected the wires directly to th pins in the plug, but the error is still there.

I soldered the wires to the pins an now the error is gone.
