LT8 To Laptop.
Hey guys and girls,
I have looked at this both on here and Mailed Micritech. I Had to buy a D9-USB lead to get my LT8 to speak to me laptop. Anyway after overcoming the COM Port# issue. Anyway upon opening the LT Software and connecting the LT via COM #1. It reconizes the LT at first then a window open and says "no connection to ECU". Anyone experienced this? Any ideas. |
What COM port is the USB to serial adapter actually set to? Many laptops already have a COM1 and COM2 internally even if they may not have external connectors. These are used when the machine is docked to a docking station. COM2 is normally the modem, COM1 is normally a regular COM port.
So if you want to use a USB to serial adapter then you need to disable the machines internal COM1 and set your USB to serial adapter to be COM1. More obviously, are you using the Microtech adapter to connect? |

More obviously, are you using the Microtech adapter to connect? I'm Using a D-9 to USB lead form laptop straight into the ECU. No Mircotech specific adaptor. As i say it sees the ECU at first then after 5 seconds or so a window opens and says "no connection to ECU". When the ECU is not connected at all and you click connect it comes up saying "COM #1 not available" So the message changes when it is pluged in. |
You need the laptop adapter to communicate with the Microtech. Just connecting the LT8 to a serial port won't work.

agh... better get on of those then!
