LT10S Fan control?
How you guys wire it up?
I guess it's white (AUX out) wire. and I think I can wire it to thermo S/W because it will activate fan on high. thanks.. |
Wire it to the fan relays. I think they located on the front inner right fender.

i dont like the idea of wiring to factory relays(especially mazda). Get one relay per fan and if its an lt10s the aux wire for the fan is white/red.
if you dont know how to wire a relay reply in this thread and ill give you a run down on how to wire the relay. |
thanks for the replys.
Whats wrong with mazda relay? stock FD fan has 2 speed motors and and it's quit a bit of work to rewire the fans neatly.if it's posiblle I want to use factory relays to avoid hassle. BTW which wire is for the idle sped actuator?and do I need +12v IGN on other side or ground? I started other thread but no respond.. thanks. |
You dont use use mazda relays for you fans for the same reason you dont use the fuel pump relay when you wire up your microtech.
They could fail from being very old, and having played with mazdas for so long(especially FD) they do funny things when you play with the factory wiring, and you may not notice but your fans may not possibly work and your car may over heat. It is a safety precaution that will save you headache later on. As for the idle speed actuator, cannot help you, have not played with them. |
Just to clarify, if I wire a in the relay like this for the fan:
85 terminal on relay - Aux wire from microtech 86 terminal on relay - ground 87 - Battery + (larger gauge wire) 30 - wired to the electric fan (larger gauge wire) When the microtech see's that the vehicle has reached operating temp it will send a low current to close the relay and allow the large current to flow to the fan(s)? Eliminates the need to have the adjustable thermostat that came with my electric fan correct? I have a pretty good idea how it works just want to make sure that I am correct. |
The above is incorrect.
the 86 terminal must go to 12v ignition. and then when you set the temp in the computer fans will come on and send a large current to the fan, yes this eliminates the need for an adjustable thermostat. |

Can u post a clear pin out of how to wire a relay for the lt10s to fans please thanks |
Terminal 85 goes to switched 12V (IGN key).
Terminal 86 goes to Microtech aux output. Terminal 30 to a fused high current source to power the fan. Terminal 87 to the fan + wire. Other fan wire to chassis ground. |
