laptop adapter for desktop computer

as the title says can i use the laptop adapter to hook up a desktop. when i get out of boot camp and the A school I'm trying to set every thing up so i can install my desktop computer in to my car the one in my sig line. and i was going to purchase the LT-10 for my car and like dj55b did with his car i was going to do a full touch screen in it and just run the tuning and every thing from there. would that even work?

The laptop adapter is simply a "serial" adapter. It will work with any computer having a serial port.

However tuning with a touch screen isn't the most pleasant thing to do. To tune Matrix mode, you really need a keyboard.

Sam will discover this with his Megasquirt as well. The touch screen will be great for monitoring and slight tweaks, but real tuning will need a keyboard.

what you need to do is install a wireless keyboard and even a mouse. ive given this kind of setup a LOT of thought.... have fun man.

Easy.

Please post your questions in their own topic. This topic has nothing to do with base maps.

i know it doesn't but i get side tracked sometimes. sorry
why a wireless mouse though the touch screen should take car of most of that though. i guess it will come in handy sometimes though. how do you'll do most of your tunings though what is best. ive only started looking in to the tuners and thought a setup like i have intended would be the most worry free

The touch screen will be very clunky for tuning in matrix mode. A bit less so for normal mode. I have a tablet and find that while it's great for reading the gauges and minor tweaks, any real amount of tuning requires that I use the keyboard.
