How are people detecting knock with microtech. i know theres nothing for knock in microtech sooo when your tunning you just don;t use anything to detect knock?

In a rotary, you tune to avoid knocking. Getting knock under light load is fairly easy to identify. You will feel the engine become crappy. Just don't go nuts on lean ratios. Keep it at 16:1 or below.

Your best friend when working with timing is a dyno and a fast responding EGT gauge. You can keep advancing timing (out of boost) until torque stars to drop and EGTs go up. Timing in boost is one of those subjects that is debated. I personally just bring it down to 16 degrees or so above atmospheric then taper linearly down to 10 degrees by 15 PSI.

The Reason i asked, I got a good friend of mine to get Lt16 for his z32. (he loves everythings great) But i aske this because when he went to get his car tuned after the tune (corey) the tuner was talking to me and said" well i didnt see anything in there for knock so i just went by my stuff and it start seeing it at 22psi knock was around xx (i forget what he said but it was low)"...I know you tune to avoid knock and what it feels like. I was just wondering if anyone out here was using somthing hooked up detecting it. i know you can buy knock setups with headphones and all but boy there $$ nad maybe somone one here was using somthing like that.
