Installing the MICROTECH Tomorrow

Hey guys,

I'm going to put in my micro-tech lt-8 that I got about a year ago. Its going into a 86 FC. I'm going to start tomorrow and was wanting to ask a general question. Would there be anything you recommend. Any hiccups you may have encountered? Ive done remote-starts, and custom stereos, so this task doesn't intimidate me a bit. Just wanted to see if any of you would have done something different.

Also I found it impossible to solder to the factory wires. I was thinking of using a set of Weatherpack Connectors. what do you think?

weatherpack connectors are cool, but there's not a whole lot you'll be able to use them for.

the wires in your factory harness are old and corroded. use a razor blade to carefully scrape them until they're shiney and use flux when you solder. you shouldn't have a problem after that.

oh yea, what's the wattage on your soldering iron?

What do you mean by "but there's not a whole lot you'll be able to use them for."
I was going to replace all the connectors involved in the installation.
