Install ?s for Temp Guage wire/Alternator wire

I'm installing an LT10 into my 87NA.

The wires that plug into the back of the alternator end up at the same harness plug as the wipers. I left them connected. Is this correct?

The wire that gets the water temp and feeds it to the temp guage is a yellow wire that connects to a thermometer in the rear side housing (next to the oil pressure sender). I've been told to keep this wire but what do I do with all of the other wires connected on the harness plug? Just cut them out?

Thanks,
Buzz

That's weird. On my '87 TII the Alt harness is seperate from the ECU harness. I did have to cut the wiper wiring out of the ECU harness and reconnect it. It sounds like you're doing ok. If you have an aftermarket gauge then you can get rid of that temp gauge wire. Basically if your LT10 doesn't need it in the harness then pull it out and rewrap it! Makes for a much smaller and cleaner harness.
