injector duty cycle questions....

could someone explain to me how the #'s work with the microtech. i know just as an example, i know im running pig rich, all the time. but what im mainly wondering is.

1. is there a way to adjust the whole fuel curve down by a percentage?

2. what goes into account when it gets your injector open time?

3. when i adjust the maps for the injectors it dosnt seem to do anything....whys that?

example, im idleing. its on the idle map. at -15hg. my values for -20, -15, and -10hg are all at 1.67 for injector open time... but when i look at the output Ms gauge. its reading right at 2.46ms? why is this? why is the value for my idle map at 1.67, and the actual open time of the injector at 2.46? this not only happens at idle, but throughout the fuel curve..

any advise/knowlage is very appreciated.

thanks
Daniel

The MixTrim function will lower all fuel delivery by the percentage specified, or raise it for that matter.

One of your settings is raising the injector open time beyond what is set in the idle map. It could be a whole number of things. Mixtrim, start up enrichment, coolant and/or air temp compensation.

Depending on how you have your injector stagging setup, it can do that. Like say if your %stage option is around 99% or so..

the actuall injector opening time is the value in the load or idle map and then the %stg settings,

if you reduce the mixtrim down by 1% it will reduce the whole map down 1%

The %stage function is adding the bulk of your extra injector open time, if the car is still running rich we can mess with it a little, but it is going to be a major pain in the ass to get it right with no EGT or wideband. As long as it is driveable I would wait and let the motor get nice and broken in, and then get thee to a dyno!

yea dan, its still running rich, ive been messing with it a little. but not too much....its just getting to be a pain in the ass.....not because its not fun to drive, but yesterday i had a guy on a motorcycle who was behind me come up besides me and tell me my car was running so rich his eyes were starting to water up. its just horrible. big army guy on a bike was about to cry.... :)
