I'm gonna burn this car with fire.

I'm trying to post in the Microtech section, but it won't let me. So I guess I will drop it here. Admin please move it, if need be.

Steve
Also I may add. I plan on getting it Dyno tuned again. I had it tuned by Steve Kan, but it was never right. I've tryed to have him log into my laptop remotely but he seems like he doesn't want to. I've already dropped over 800 bucks into tuning and I'm really at my wits end with this car.

Remote troubleshooting is hard to do with the Microtech because we can't share maps or datalogs with AFRs.

But I will try.

First, what EXACTLY do you mean by "always too rich or lean"?

Be as specific as possible. For example, if I take a typical Bridgeport idle value of 1400 RPM at 12" of vacuum, what happens there? Do the AFRs bounce around? Between what values?

Does this happen over the entire map?

Matrix mode or normal?

Bridgeports are notoriously difficult to get a solid AFR on because the misfires caused by charge dilution confuse a wideband. You have to tune to an average and not what the wideband is saying at that instant.

Your single throttle body doesn't help. Air velocity is very low through it, so your primary injectors are firing into a weak air stream, causing a lean charge, and then the puddle of fuel is sucked from the intake runner, causing a rich charge.

Thanks for the response Aaron. This is exactly what happened, I bought my car with 80% of it done and the other 20% just thrown together. I have since then been trying to get it right. First was the tune by Steve Kan. It made the car a whole lot better but not perfect by my standards at all. I dealt with it because at least I could drive it around without a 10.0afr all the time. Then the tb and the tps sensor took a dump and would drive the Microtech nuts because the tps was always moving. Hence why I went with a rotary works tb and fd tps. After that all was still kinda Ok, just had to play with pump settings and what not to get tip in right. Then Steve Kan remotely messed with it again and it has never been right. Idle is between 12.5-13.2 which I like but cruising and under boost I am wayyyyyyyy toooo rich. Enough to stumble the engine cruising is 11.1-11.5 and under boost my gauge is pegged at 10.0 the entire time, this is also the second I come into boost I'm at this afr through the entire rev range. I've also noticed that cold starts and after sitting in the sun are impossible. The engine runs at a very low rpms, and stalls all the time. I have to keep in the throttle to keep it ubove 1500rpm for about 5 minutes to get it to hold and idle. I also have no emissions stuff on the intake, no idle air control valve no nothing. Idle is achieved by the tune and how far the tb is open. If you need anymore info I will try my hardest to explain. Thanks again

Aaron Cake, are you there?

Yet another tune by the great Steve Kan...But to be fair, tuning remotely is very difficult especially with an ECU that has almost zero useful logging.

By default the Microtech doesn't use the TPS for anything but idle/off idle detection so in theory, unless settings were changed so the pumps use TPS for reference, it won't effect the tune.

Honestly, it just sounds like the car needs to be tuned by someone with experience. Maybe someone in your regional forum can help.
