Ignition Question
I have a Microtech LTX8S w/ Bosch coils on my FD and im getting reay to amp up the ignition system a little. I was looking to run MSD 6A boxes like i did on my TII before but any other options will be considered. Also on my TII i ran 3 MSD's one for leading and two for trailing. Do i have to run four on the FD set up?

You would only need three 6A boxes but ideally you will want a single dual-post coil for the leading. The FD is a 3 channel system similar to the FC, just doesn't use the toggle like the FC. I'd prefer a single M&W Pro 14R box to the three 6A boxes. Will give a little hotter spark, will fire four single post coils, and since it's much, much smaller than the 3 6A boxes will be much easier to package and install.

Thanks for the advice. That's a nice piece but a little pricy for me at 900.00. I already have 2 MSD boxes from the previous build that's why I was shooting in that direction.
You said I only need to use 3 MSD boxes but there are 4 individual coils. Is there a specific way to wire it up? On the TII it was pretty straight forward. It's the first time that I'm dealing with the 4 individual coils. |
2 msd dis-i ts more simple that 4 6al.

If you want to use four individual coils then you really need four channels or four 6A boxes. What I was referring to was using a single dual post coil with one 6A box for the leading. You just don't want a single box trying to fire two individual coils.
