How to wire MSD 6A
I am getting paid tomorrow and I figured it's time to get a better spark. I am running the lt10s with x4 box and 4 bosch coil setup. I think I should grab an msd 6a to get a little more punch out of my system and possible clean up my spark plugs instead of getting black ones in a month...
I tried calling msd and they were not sure how I should wire it into my system properly.... So I come to you guys, yes I saw the fc3spro install but that is for stock ass stuff and doesn't work with the microtech/bosch stuff. How do I wire in an msd 6a properly? I understand it can only fire the leading or trailing unless I buy two boxes and then wire one for leading and one for trailing but am unsure how to get it to work... Thanks! |
Not being familiar with the x4, I can only offer an educated guess.
You need one MSD for each coil. The MSD should be wired between the x4 box and the coil, configured as it would be for a stock ignitor. |
Can you replaced the ignitor box(factory igniter or x4box)and use the msd to trigger the coils?Isnt that what you did 2 tina Aaron?

I have LT10 with X4 and run 2 MSD DIS 4 or you can also run DIS 2

I have to run an msd per coil? dang that will be expensive... Aaron do you have any idea of how to wire the x4 box as an ignitor input? If I knew that then I could just match the coils pos and negatives as a standard ignition install and then use my x4 box as the ignitor input in a standard configuration.

I called another msd expert and they said I either run 4 msd 6a's or just run one dis 4 box inline from the x4 box to the dis4 box and run the wires to the bosch coils. Basically just a jumper in line. But that will be about 700 so I will just stay with what I have :p
