How many wires go to the engine bay?
I have no way of knowing till July. So, how many wires go through the fire wall to the engine bay? I'm going to install the MSD weather pack connector(s) so I have a way to disconnect all the wires with one or two plugs. Makes it easier if I have to pull the engine & what not.
Thanks...................... |
what are the msd weather pak connectors? Sounds interesting.

Ideal for use in harsh environments. The weather pack was designed for the engine compartment of a vehicle. Use weather packs for automotive, marine, agricultural and other harsh environmental applications. Positive snap-action locking. Secondary locking helps terminal retention and provides access to the terminals for service. Stops in all cavities to insure proper insertion of terminals. All connectors are indexed to prevent mis-mating. Housing, terminals, plugs and seals are sold separately. Nylon housing rated -40ºC to 125ºC.

I don't quite get why you're asking. :) The harness can be seperated from the ECU (see http://devils.eng.fsu.edu/~bmatt/mtech/), and all but 6 wires are connected to sensors and the like and can be disconnected. For a wiring diagram, see the last page of http://devils.eng.fsu.edu/~bmatt/mtech/MT_manual.pdf

Anywho, im pretty sure this is it: 4 CAS 2 Air Temp 2 Water Temp 3 Coils 3 TPS 2 Power wires 8 Injectors 1 Oxy sensor -------------------- 25 Total I pulled 3 wires out at the ECU, cause I Wanted them ran inside the car. The Ign On, and the 2 to the Fuel Pump Relay. |

2 water?
I only have 1 wire on my water sensor. 2 power? one from the batt. (in my cab) & one switched? what about oil press.? |
No oil pressure. The 1 wire water sensor youre thinking of is actually for the gauge inside the cabin. Theres a 2 wire sensor, for the ECU on the back of the water pump housing.
|
Oh crap. The one on the back of the water pump housing has to go to the EMS? Shit! Mines been retaped for my autometer gauge.
I guesss I have to get a diff. on now. Damn, It's just been cleaned & preped for powder coatting. That sucks! |

Good news. The one of my parts bitches came through for me. Got a diff. housing in good shape. Now, I have to prep. it for powder coat. :)
I still need to know how the dash unit gets it's oil press. info. I thought it came from the stock oil press. sensor. |
Maybe it does. I didnt have an oil pressure hook up though.
|
I thought brandon said that the dash unit shows oil press.
Anyone know? |
Nope. That's one of the few things it doesn't do. You won't have to mess with the stock gauge/wire, however. They'll work as-is after the install.
