Help, too rich.
Ok here's my problem,
I have just upgraded turbo's from a high flowed 13b turbo to a Garrett TA45. At the same time I upgraded my injectors from 550 primaries to 720's and from 720 secondaries to 1700's. My problem is I can barely get the car to run as it is so over fuelled. I had to remove the plugs and clean them 4 times just to get it to fire up. I drove the car briefly and you can hardly accelerate at all as it just floods. I tried taking out the 1700cc injectors and putting some 720's back in the secondaries but it didnt make much difference as anything over 1/4 throttle it would flood still. I did get 2 psi though, lol.:D I dont want to run the 4 12a turbo injectors as I want to run 15 psi on the street and more at the track with decent fuel. That is why I got the 1700's. Is there any way I can alter my fuel map without messing it up completely? This is on a 12a using a 13b throttle body and an MTX8 with a 3 bar map sensor. I know it needs to be tuned properly but I would like to be able to at least drive it onto a trailer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Daniel |
You will have to do a complete re tune.
But if you are just wanting to get it to start & run onto the trailer then try taking fuel out with the mixture trim. Get the car running & go up 4 clicks on the handset & you will see the Options screen.Mix trim is the first one you will come to. Try taking 20% out & see how it goes.If it's better keep taking fuel out till it runs the best & leave it at that. Get it onto the trailer somewhere to get it tuned asap!! Jon |
Thanks Jon, I'll give it a go.

Well I did it. I took out 20% like you said and it made it better but it still broke down under more than 1/4 throttle so I took out another 5% and that seemed to do the trick. It even starts off the key again.
Thanks very much Jon. |
Go to the staging % change this to 99% the stg rpm to 3.5k and the stgmap to 1psi and reduce the mixture trim to -35% and it should have roughly the same as before and should be able to drive. This should help
