Help!sputter,backfiring at low rpms on turbo bridged motor (3k to 4k)
I have a 13B turbo HBP running stock coils,LT8S,76MM turbonetics turbo(divided 1.00 AR Qtrim)
walbro pump,aeromotive regulator,parallel fuel system,680/1600 injector combo and all the supporting mods.Engine has 200 miles on it and it start right up but i have a sputter,hesitation,backfiring issue at around 3K to 4K and is most noticeable when i am free revving the motor,it backfires and loose power at that rpm range until i get of the gas or go easy on the throtle.Under heavy load it feels like i hit a wall but after i hit 4200rpms it takes off hard but my gauge and microtech only registers a max of 2 psi of boost.I checked for leaks on my intake system and found nothing,wastegate is a 50mm hks unit and it was working on a another setup.Could this be a fuel issue?maybe timing?secondary injector not coming online?low compression on the motor?Please help me out guys!Sadly i cant post a log cause my laptop took a dump today but here is the map that is loaded on the microtech,Ask me if you guys need any other info. okay i just discovered that my stock tach is around 750rpms lower than the rpms that are showing on my pc(i ran a long usb connector out 2 my garage to do some changes on my map)so lets say that it backfires from 4k to 5k,Dam i need to fix my laptop!running b9es on all 4 plugs and 91 octane.motor pulls 12 of vacuum at 1600 RPM(big bridgeport on the secondaries and just polished primaries)

To me it looks like you need a lot more fuel judging by the RPMWOT settings. However, why aren't you in matrix mode? :) Ditch the carburetor mode and switch to a proper EFI mode.

I have being using this map as a startup point to get the car running,so the RPMWOT settings have to be changed(adding more fuel) I will switch 2 matrix mode and add more fuel(i have a plx wideband to check my afr)and go from there. Also the cars floods sometimes during cold startup,if i dont hold the throtle open a little bit during cold startup the car will idle funny misfire and kill the rear rotor(flooding it)this only happens once i a while(lets say 3 or 4 times a month)other than that the car starts right up when hot,maybe i need to adjust my cranking map?leaky rear injector?Any other ideas guys? |
