when your cranking, look to see if the orange light on the microtech is flashing or not only while cranking. if it isnt then thats your problem.

MaczPayne 07-14-07 10:00 AM

No crank? There are two kinds of "no starts", one where you can't fire it up, and the other where you can't even use the starter.

groundfirekid04 07-14-07 12:46 PM

it turns over like it wants to start but it doesnt. the orange light flickers when im cranking but when it doesnt start the green one stays on and the red one comes on but no orange.

MaczPayne 07-14-07 04:31 PM

Error on air means you have a problem with the air temp sensor. It shouldn't affect starting.

Are you getting fuel? Are you getting spark?

groundfirekid04 07-14-07 09:23 PM

yea i am. actually i think it might be the gas because it sat for a while before the motor swap. a long time.

rx72c 07-14-07 10:28 PM

get a new set of spark plugs.
100% they are flooded.

groundfirekid04 07-15-07 01:22 AM

i just did. i really think it was just the gas but i think im just going to take it down to chris at banzai racing and have him look at it to reinsure me that everything was done completely right lol. thanks for your help you guys. ill let you know the status on it.

MaczPayne 07-15-07 04:35 PM

My car wouldn't start on old gas either, it putted like it was wanting to start, but it didn't. Then when new gas went in, it fired up.

groundfirekid04 07-15-07 04:57 PM

okay ill try that one man. thanks. its been sitting for about a year.

MaczPayne 07-15-07 06:03 PM

Mine was also sitting for about year when I went to fire it up. I'm sure that's the problem your having. Is it putting like it wants to start when you turn the key?

If you haven't drained the old gas, do it. That's what I did, so all I had to do was crank out all the old gas.

groundfirekid04 07-15-07 10:43 PM

hell yea dude. changed the gas and spark plugs the thing started right up. it still needs a couple more things before it is perfect. I NEED THE BLOCK OFF PLATE FOR THE SIDE OF THE LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD!! the one that is on it, done by previous owner, is made from shit and doesnt seal so it smokes. but yea, drove the car today and was happy as shit

MaczPayne 07-16-07 08:52 AM

Glad you have it up and running. Are you talking about that plate that blocks off the thing next to the turbo coolant line?

RotaryRevn 07-16-07 09:14 PM

go to the microtechefi.com forums. There is a sticky there that explains how to have the microtech to a system check so to speak. The ecu acts as the crank angle sensor and will fire all of the spark plugs and injectors. I wasn't getting fuel or spark and it turned out that my crank angle sensor wiring was wrong.

Now if I could just drive it, it idles fine but dies when I push the gas. We are supposed to be able to drive on the base maps right? I bought my Microtech back a few years ago when Jon at RX Engineering set up the maps for the group buy.

the block off plate that goes right above the turbo. its the big one
