Having trouble with wiring harness connectors

Hey Guys

Im installing an LT-8 on my FC and Im having really difficulty trying to free up the metal pins inside the plastic connectors. I went to snap-on and purchased a special tool for imports that aids in freeing up the metal pins from the connectors. I must be doing something wrong because I cant free up sh*t. Can someone who has done this already chime in?

Basically I want to use new wiring from the LT-8's wiring harness, not just soilder on new wire to old wire. Hopefully this makes sense the way Im wording it.

Thanks
Chris

I've used a paperclip in the past for some of the extra wires that went to the wiper's connector (inside of the cabin).

:)

HUH!!! You lost me.

Im talking about freeing the metal pins inside the plastic connector. Not sure what a paperclip has to do with that.

You push on a small tab of metal so that it clears the plastic tab which holds in the wire. I had some success using a paper clip to do that.
