Fuel Pump - What did I do wrong?
 

Hey! So ive finally moved everything over from my s4 to s5. When I reconnected everything I got green light on my microtech but the fuel pump didn't pressurize. So retracing my foot steps the green wire (fuel pump relay) was connected to a dark brownish red wire directly beside my steering colom under the steering wheel. I did the same on the s5 but im not sure why its not pressuring.

I do remember when the guy that installed it in my s4 went for the first start he diaconnected the fuel pump plug on the rear strut tower and reconnected. However that didn't seem to work for me. Any suggestions?

Run all new wiring to the fuel pump. Do not trust the old (and hacked up) factory wiring. Run a 12 gauge wire back to the pump switched by a new relay connected to the Microtech. The feed for that relay should go directly to a fused 12V source that comes from the battery.

So I did some comparisons and looks like I just disconnected the s5 relay. They used the stock s4 (gxl) relay but no resistor. Im guessing from the wiring it didn't have one.

So if I run a new relay vs modifying the s5 wiring. I found these instructions.

87 goes to direct power from battery (should I fuse this?)
86 goes to pink wire (guessing this is aux switch power?)
85 goes to green wire
30 goes to fuel pump.

Do you think its ideal to run new wires vs modify engine bay harness?
Would it matter if the only relays I can find have 12 gauge wire off the harness? Ill solder it as close to the pin as I can.

Rewire definitely its the only way I installed a new loom on a Fc,etc. Usually use a 30 amp relay with 10-12 gauge power supply. It helps maintain voltage on the fuel pump especially under boost. The hardest part is running is running a power supply directly from the battery make sure you use a inline fuse.

Any input as to what the 4 wire plug goes to?
Blue w/ green stripe
Black
White w/ green stripe
White w/ red stripe.

If Im going to rewire id like to take it from relay wiring (noted in above post) to this plug.

Ill be fusing everything through my aftermarket (blue ocean) fusebox that im using for all add on components.

Ignition pwr to relay.
Battery fused at 15amp? To relay 12+
Then from relay to the 4 wire plug im assuming

after further investigation there are two pink wires that the previous installation tied into the factory harness I believe x10.

this page suggests one goes to 12v switched the other to pin 86. looking at my setup they are both on a 12v switch.

I looked at this page http://microtechefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=353 and I am curious if I can leave pink out and tie into a separate fuse block that I put in that's 12v ignition activated.

or should I tie both pinks into pin 86?
