Fuel injector sizes?
I am building a new engine for a T2 and was thinking of ither useing 2x750cc and 2x 1200cc injectors or 4x1000cc's which would be better for me?
I would like to use 4x1000 due to the cost but i'm thinking it may make the Idle a bit rich and may be hard to set up at the lower rev range? My engine is a very Agressive secondry port with a stockish primary, it also has a big Exhaust port and a 60-1 Turbo. I am looking for the 400-450bhp (flywheel). Thanks Chris |
What are you using to adjust the fuel delivery?

Alot of this depends on the control system. Are you using the stock ECU? Also, on a separate question, what modifications do you think are necessary to enable the T2 engine to handle 400hp? This includes cooling system, lubrication system and structural engine modifications. Thanks,

Engine wise? I have done every thing, Dry sump,Dowled masive extended ports the list goes on.
I am running a Microtech Ltx8,Twin Apexi GTR fuel pumps,Alloy tank but thats about as far as i've got. I am thinking of going with a set up simalar to Alfs (soul assasin) Car. That would mean i'd run 4x 1000 in both the Primarys and secondrys. |
As you have probably now figured out by the responses, this is an EMS-specific issue, so I am moving this thread to the Microtech forum.

i would recommend leaving the primary injectors at 550cc (factory) and just going with a bigger cc injectors on the secondays. whats the cfm for ur turbo? find that out and then pick the correct cc for the injectors. The reason i say stick with the factory primarys is that its not gonna idle worth shit and it is going to be hard to crank. You dont need bigger injectors for idle anyway. you need it only when you foot is to the ground.

ive had 1200cc primarys in my car for ages with no idle problems, i have tuned cars with 1600cc primarys as well with no problems,
