1 Yes.
2 Yes. The harness is supplied by microtech. All you have to do is solder the harness to your stock sensors, injectors etc.
3 No. You can either run a laptop, hand controller by micro, or dash unit by micro. As well as the laptop dongle for storing maps, but that won't give you parameters.

thanks travis...what do you recomend for a bnr turbo t3/t4 ...to get to over 300hp ...fuel wise injectors ...can i use my stock coils

Yes, you use your stock coils.

At 300HP, you might get away with stock injectors as long as you have the pump to support them. Standalones can drive injectors at higher duty cycles then the stock ECU is willing to do.

But more realistically, 550/720CC and you should be fine.

I'm running a BNR stage 2, walbro pump, 750cc primary, 1000cc secondary. I put in the 1000cc just to give me some head room when i'm ready for bigger turbo.

When I was asking your exact question about a year ago. I was told to run at minimum 720cc primary and 720cc secondary.

now last week i went to a dyno and the guy had a microtech a t70 with wastegate and ran 306 hp with 9lbs of boost and they complained it was the stock s4 tps was the problem they could not get more power...he had 850 primarys 1600 secondarys ....i was confused why he couldnt get more power...all i have is a bnr t3/t4

arron it looks like i can get the same power with a t3/t4 but he has bigger injectors...whats up with the tps

Aaron Cake 02-08-10 09:11 AM

Well I'm glad he didn't have a T70 without a wastegate!

Complaining about the TPS shows that they are clueless. The Microtech only uses the TPS to know when the engine is at idle in most cases. Sometimes, the accel pump is set to use the TPS instead of MAP, but this will not effect how much power a car is making.

Perhaps if they had ran more then 9 PSI, at which a T70 is so far out of it's efficiency it's not even funny, they would have had better results.

1987 s4 t2

what model do you guys suggest for a bnr turbo t3/t4 .....ive installed engines and rebuilt them how hard is the install...will i need extra parts what may not be included ...or when i purchase it everthing is there ill need....

Aaron Cake 02-10-10 10:05 AM

Honestly I don't suggest any Microtech. There are far better ECU choices out there which are not artificially limited by software.

dennis blackstone 02-11-10 06:40 PM

what would you recomend ...and why

Aaron Cake 02-12-10 09:21 AM

If you are a DIY person with some electronics experience, the Megasquirt.

Otherwise, the new Haltechs like the Platinum Sport 1000.

The simple reason is that they are better then the Microtech in almost every way. The only area the Microtech is superior in is noise immunity, which may not even be the case anymore as it is easy to get a stable CAS signal on the Megasquirt and I can't imagine the Haltechs are still having noise issues.

dennis blackstone 02-12-10 09:30 PM

now tunning the megasquirt is that pretty straight forward
