getting microtech LT-8 this week...

do i need an s5 TPS for my s4 13bt?...

ive heard yes and no answers.....

also, if i get just the electronic part, will it connect to my TB?

Acually the S-4 TPS isn't very acurate. An S-5 model will make things easyier. The S-4 one likes to uncalibrate for no real reason..

This is exactly the trouble I'm having and why I'm working on a bracket to hold a full sweep TPS.

OK? i'm using a S4 Tps, i also have a brand new S5 Tps. The diffrence i see on both is that the S5 have (2) of them. Am i correct? Anyways my question was, Should i use the S5 Tps instead.

The sensor isn't the problem. The sensors are pretty much the same thing, they both output ~5v at full open, and ~1v at closed, the only difference is their setup. The S4 TPS guide (or whatever you want to call the metal peice that travels over it) only runs on the TPS for about 25% of the throttle motion before the TPS travels completely out, where-as the S5's guide doesn't drop off as sharp, it moves the TPS out more gradually, and thus it works for a full range. However, since the TPS is just used to help switch between load/idle maps, I really don't see why you'd have a problem using either, the only advantage of swapping to a S5 throttle body would be datalogging accuracy (or trying to retrofit the full range guide onto the S4, there's no need to swap the sensors)

Don'ty worry about it, the S4 TPS is fine. It's not worth going out and buying the S5 TB for it.
