Decel active or not with premix
 

So I run premix on my engine with OMP deleted. What are the views on running the ecu with decel turned on vs leaving it off so you get fuel and hence lube on the housing during deceleration? I have heard arguements both ways for different reasons and some saying you get enough ruminants of lube in the engine for this short period with decel on. More views please as to what you all do?

My plan was a 2-stroke reservoir converted OMP that injects off throttle and on throttle based on RPM/Load and Premix that has a decel fuel cut around 125ms. The OMP does way too much good to just delete it. Just convert to a standalone reservoir...

I toyed with converting the OMP way back to mechanical or fixed in some way.. However read lots on just premixing and chose that route. Now I just want to know thoughts on using decel fuel cut too. It's a street car by the way if that sways opinions.

I personally keep my my decel on. I did it beacuse I read where someone had posted that having the gas being injected on decel is only wasting the gas and also the excess gas can actually wash off/drench the lubrication that is already there on the walls from when you where in the throttle all the time before. For me, without any scientific evidence of knowledge, I don't think the relatively short period I am in decel mode will severely adversely deteriorate my housing surfaces.

Thanks for the reply.. This backs up some things I have read and heard and certainly would be the case if you were running excess fuel through a piston engine. Hello bore wash! Unless anyone can come back with facts pointing the other way maybe I will stick as I am with my decel on!

but the fuel also has premix oil in it, you're not washing the engine walls with just straight gas.

Decel is fine with premix.

During decel the engine is under very little to no load.

The chrome surface of the rotor housing has pores which, containing oil, continue to lubricate the seals.

You do damage to the engine by not using decel. For example, all that unburned fuel strips the oil from the chamber walls and bypasses oil seals polluting the oil.
