Calibrated TPS.. idle still high
Ok folks. I switched throttle bodies and calibrated the LT8s acoordingly. With the dash unit. It is reading 0%. When accelerator is to the floor it reads through to 99%. Fired the car up when stepping on the gas it is reading normal.My idle is at 1380 still. NO vacuum leaks anywhere. The adjustment screw is all the way loose. Even w/ the throttle cable unhooked it is 1380. Any pointers? Thanks Garret

Ur tps cal isnt your problem, take a can of "carb intake cleaner" and start spraying it around all your Vac lines, if theres a leak it will find it by raising the idel of the car when it sucks the carb intake cleaner in.
good luck |
just a thought but whats your timing at idle looking like,maybe its too advance at idle.

Nope. I just took it for a spirited drive and it ran flawlessly. I know its right. It has to be a vac. leak. What is the best stuff for vac leaks. My carb cleaner wont raise the idle when I sprayed into one of the UIM nipples..

Checks---->
Vacume leak. Air bypass screw. Throttle stop screws Last but not least if all the above pass then check the BAC valve. They are known to get stuck in the open position. I've change many of them for that very said problem. Even if you're not using it and it's disconnected they do that sometimes. |
