Anyone use the two step feature?

I was just wondering how effective it was, and if it really spools the turbo effectively.... Thanks

J-Rat May 23, 2005 06:41 PM

I use it, but I havent seen too much positive pressure being generated.

J-Rat May 23, 2005 06:41 PM

Oops.. I thought this was the Haltech forum.. Disregard.

I noticed that people use it on piston engines with no problems, and also rotary race cars.. can it be hurtfull to our motors?

Infini IV May 24, 2005 12:32 AM

I used it quite succesfully :)

stacher May 24, 2005 12:47 AM

Sorry, I am lost. What is the two step feature?

its a rev limit that you preset that allows you to go WOT and hold it till the boost gets to where you want, and then drop the clutch. You notice it when you are at the track. You here them at the line back firing like crazy..

Do you have a rotary engine in it?

Also, can you do flat shift with the Microtech?

flat shift?? if its what im thinking, keeping you foot on the accel the whole time, then yea, just set it the rpm limit. But I used to do it on the stock computer too. Takes getting used to, but im naturally a fast shifter/good driver.

GUITARJUNKIE28 May 29, 2005 02:10 AM

you can flat shift witht he haltechs, but i don't think the microtech has that option.

martin, it doesn't hurt the motor, but it eats turbine wheels.

GUITARJUNKIE28 May 29, 2005 10:35 AM

2 step, flatshift is like a rev limit so you can keep the foot on the accel?

GUITARJUNKIE28 May 29, 2005 12:30 PM

yea, i thought we switched the topic to flatshift.

yea, microtech does have it, since they have the soft and hard cut limiters. but, if you are quick enough then you shouldnt need it.

GUITARJUNKIE28 May 29, 2005 12:43 PM

i wouldn't use it anyway.

but are you talking about flatshift or 2 step?

So how do us microtech users use this two step feature. Does the microtech LT12S automatically come with it, or do we have to purchase it. If it comes with it, how do we use it?
