Any way to keep some of the stock Guages?

Is there a way to keep the stock water temp and oil pressure guages working in the dash while using a LT8?
Thanks,

It's easy. Just keep that part of the engine harness. You will also want to save the wiper motor harness.

I generally strip down the engine harness to only include the alternator and water temp wiring. The oil pressure gauge wire is actually on the body harness. Well, technically Mazda says the alternator/water temp is on the emissions harness and the oil pressure is on the engine harness.

Is there a wiring diagram for those of us that have already cut all that out but now want them to work? Or am I up shit creek without a paddle?

what other stock gauges do you lose when you install microtech? is the idiot cluster gone as well?

TonyTurboII 10-09-05 10:14 AM

I lost them all except my Fuel Level, no problem though. Boost was worthless, my DASH unit displays water temp, and I invested in a good oil pressure gauge.

Speedo is mechanical, tach runs of the ignition stuff which is on the dash harness. At least on an FC......

You keep all of them except boost.... tach, speedo, oilp, water temp, fuel level and volt meter. All of those work, you just need to keep that side of the harness, like aaron said.

No, sill have tach and speedo, I was just talking about the little ones..

I know some people already know this, but I just thought I'd point out that there are differences between the S5 and S4 harnesses. When I installed my LT8s into my S4 TII I stripped the stock ECU harness down to only what the MT needed. The only stock gauge I lost was boost, but it's covered up with a Defi gauge anyway. I had to rewire the wiper motor, but that's it. I don't have enough experience with S5's to comment on what exactly is different.

:molepoke: bumping an old thread.

I'm sorting out my wires to do the same shit right now, only i have a bigger mess with a jspec turbo 13b in a s4 gxl. So the wiring kinda makes me :wallbash:

the N332 ecu (87 turbo ecu) has the 3 plug like so here
http://members.shaw.ca/ahyc84/FC3S/ecu.jpg

what the hell is the one on the right for? (the big fat one) I'm afraid to rip that section out since it goes to the driver side of the car

Is there a ECU read out pin diagram or something?

This whole wiring diagram shit in the FSM is confusing me :S I can't tell which harness is which

n/m, figured it out. sry. finally found out how the FSM works with this wiring shit and the harness.
