1600cc secondaries now it wont start

Alright now I installed some 1600cc fuel rail w/ secondaries, sard pressure regulator, and steel braided lines and now the car will not start. I used the self diagnostic checker (set the configure to 0) and checked the fuel/ignitionsystem but everything is working and i'm not getting any error codes. The car just turns over and dosent even attempt to start just turns over.

Go back over all your wiring. Adding bigger secondaries and a FPR will not change how your car should start. It sounds like you unplugged something on accident.

I unwraped my my wiring harness ealier today and made sure it was all good, plus everything is working when I checked it with the self checker (it cuts the fuel pump and simulates the motor running) and I could see hear and feel all of the injectors pulsing. I also unplugged the plug wires and hooked them up so I could watch the spark from each one. I also messed alot with the %stage an switched it to 95% and tried but same then I tried -45% on the MixTrim but still no go and I lastly tried to push it dwon the hill and dropped it in 2nd but it didnt go past 500 rpm. I think I'm gonna try to get it started with the %stage set at 50% and Mixtrim at 0% because that is how I had it set up with the 550cc in the secondaries and adjust everything from there. Let me know of some other ideas. Thanks

Make sure the 1600's aren't stuck open.

or you probably switched the injector plugs by accident.. check and see if you have the primary injector plugs for the primary and secondary plugs into your 1600cc...

Drift~O-RX7 11-15-05 11:15 AM

Alright, I looked over the injecotr plugs and you cant really switch the primary and secondary plugs anymore because the 1600cc came with there own injector plugs and I labeled the primary plugs before I removed them. I'm pretty sure that the 1600's are not staying open because they work fine when I pulse them and the pressure regulator will read 40psi even after the pump has finished priming but after about 1min it slowly goes down.

Drift~O-RX7 11-15-05 01:49 PM

ok, I just rechecked the wiring harness and it all matches up. Since the upper intake manifold was taken off I primed the fuel system and looked down the intake an saw that it was dry and the injectors are not leaking or stuck open.

Can you smell gas???? Do you have fuel pressure? did you flip flop the fuel lines?... If you cant smell gas fumes then more then likely you are not getting fuel... If you can smell gas then more then likey you dont have spark. If you have both, then you may have a huge air leak or your ign timing is way off

Drift~O-RX7 11-15-05 06:42 PM

Ok, I got the car started with the help of some starting fluided but it would only stay running if I kept spraying it in the turbo and even then it wasnt staying on very well. So I ripped off the upper intake manifold and pulled the primary injectors out but left everything still conected. I had my father yurn the motor over while I watched the injectors squirt. I originally flipped the fuel lines on the fpr but I figures that out when my pump made a weird noise when it tried to prime. Now the fpr reads 40psi.

It sounds like its flooded to me. You said once you put the bigger secondaires you moved the % stage from 50 to 95? When you do that, the primary injectors start injecting alot more gas. Try to take gas outta the crank and idle maps.

Drift~O-RX7 11-15-05 07:17 PM

I set it back to %stage 50% and I will adjust it once it is running. Also on a quick note I removed the pulsation dampener and made all my fuel line steel braided. The way I set it up is that the fuel comes from the pump to the filter, to the fpr, to the primary fuel rail, to the secondary fuel rail, back to the tank. Now I noticed that the way it is set up stock is pump-filter-primary rail-secondary rail-fpr-tank. Now to me it makes more sense to have the fpr before the fuel goes through the rails rather than after like the stock set up, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

FPR's work by cutting off return flow so fuel has nowhere to go but through your injectors, are you sure you should be attempting this by yourself and not with a trained mechanic?

You are wrong. FPR goes at the end of the system. It regulates fuel by sending the extra back to the tank. That's the easiest way for me to explain it.

if you check out fc3spro.com you can see how a proper parallel setup is suppoused to be. http://fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/FUEL/pararail.jpg
