Here is my Megasquirt project its a bit different its a periphial ported km3 sachs wankel engine which is turbo and has a megasquirt ecu v2.2 with ms1 extra software, I have just got it running, I plan to run it on methanol but have just got it running on pump gas to get it running, check it out running here

That's great! Can we get some closeups of the injector, and the turbo area?

Heres a few more pics, Im having trouble getting it too run properly, I only have the one trigger which is set at 25 degrees btdc and the injector I have in it is a 750cc which is huge but should be ok for when I run it on methanol, I wanted to get a pump gas tune on it before I start with the methanol, so that I can run it after each run and get rid of all the methanol in the system, I think my basic tuning setup is a bit of a mess, I don't know if the required fuel is set correctly and have no idea where to start on fuel and ignition maps, the trigger I am using is just a set of points and I have a small light bulb in place of the coil, apart from that the engine is 110cc, its periphial ported, and turbo charged, so far I have not been able to get it too run past about 5000rpm as it just dies and it was just starting to come on boost at that point(1-2psi), also it wont run below about 3000 rpm and cuts out with any abrupt movement of the throttle, I am using ms1 extra, If anyone has any idea on how to do a basic setup for this project your help would be greatly appreciated, Im really just having a stab in the dark at it so I think its lucky to run at all! Im also concerned about the ignition timing with there being only 1 trigger point for each revolution, what do you guys think?

One trigger will work, but you will need to set the engine up as a single cylinder 2 stroke (to get one ignition event per eccentric revolution). With that kind of setup, which will have a horrible vacuum signal, you'll be needing Alpha-N for in vacuum and use speed density in boost.

How do you switch between alpha N and speed density at the point of boost coming on? Do I set it up as a duel map

Wow...im glad I found this....Nice job!

you're going to have plenty of problems with vaporization of the fuel until the bike gets warmed up because of the injector orientation. It should be spraying as close to parallel to the local air flow as possible to keep the fuel airborne, and as close to the inlet port as possible so that the fuel has a nice hot wall to hit and vaporize on. I'd suggest getting a throttle body from a modern fuel-injected bike, that way you get the fuel rail, injector, throttle and linkage etc all in one package. I'm working on something similar, but on an old honda bike (and unfortunately not a rotary)

Well I have just got back into this project after shifting house, I have been banging my head against the wall with it.
It won't go over about 4000rpm and struggles to rev, I was thinking for a long time that it was an an ecu problem which was the cause , After changing just about everything in the tune and injectors etc I have come to the conclusion that the exhaust housing on the turbo is too small, I had it running last weekend with the hose between the inter cooler and throttle body disconnected and you could see a mist forming in the intake to the throttle body so that kind of backs up my thoughts, it is peripheral port and the turbo is also about a foot or more from the exhaust port so I also wondering if the turbo is too far from the port and I may be getting some sort of pressure wave messing it up? Maybe a mixture of the two problems? Turbo exhaust housing too small or Turbo to far from Port, Anyone got any ideas?
I will be removing the turbo this week coming to see if it runs properly in NA format, If Im right it should run properly as when it had a carburetor it ran fine.

Very nice project.. If time allows I'm also wanting to convert a 1 rotor kart wankel (Aixro/ItalSystem) to MS2/kdFi, but the space is really limited to mount a good triggerwheel.. if that would work out well I would use a small vnt turbo on it (from a VW 1.4l tdi) and run it on E85
this engine has a flapper actuated pheripal port and a regular port whoch is used to cool and lubricated the rotor and rotor bearing

Finally got to it today, I ended up disconnecting the wastegate actuator rod and changed a few ignition settings, It seems to be running again although its still very rich, I seem to have about 500rpm more than I had before, I started leaning it out a bit around 5000rpm and it seemed to be responding and increasing in rpm then my wife came and shut my tuning session down due the fact the kids were trying to sleep and it wasn't happening with the raucous noise I was creating :(
Any way I have posted a copy of the tune if any of you ms guru's out there can make any suggestions on how I could improve it I would gladly take it on board,
I am using ms1 extra software with points as trigger, and a 12v bulb in place of coil to make it work, it has a 550cc rx7 series 4 injector, engine is 110cc, its periphial ported, any suggestions would be great.

Please note! I changed the extension on the file from .msq to zip so I could upload it, so to view it you will need to change it back to .msq

Got it back up and running again alot of changes and alot more to come. Now using v3 board and CR sensor. Haven't tuned it yet just wanted to get it running. Will be building a new intake manifold and doing a few more mods then off to the dyno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6hgN6Py2pE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

It can be said that the most important protective equipment when riding a motorcycle is a helmet. In 2015 alone, motorcycle helmets saigon saved the lives of approximately 1,772 motorcyclists, and another 740 could have been saved if the motorcyclist wore a helmet in an accident. Your state may or may not require you to wear a helmet, but you should ALWAYS wear a helmet. Take ATGATT as an equestrian thought. All gears, all the time. Nothing less.
We've looked at the safest motorcycle helmets, but how do other motorcycle helmets compare in terms of safety?

Rub20B 04-23-21 05:51 AM

Keep it coming. I have ow also been given 2 KM3s. What stumped me was that it only had side seals on one side of the rotor.

We also have a KM914 now on a welding generator. that is a mean bwoj, almost like a 10A single rotor aircooled
