Staged injection?

Wheres my megasquirt guys at! im working away trying to dial in my staged injection with a fuel system of 1000/2200id injectors!
looking to run 10-15psi currently till i can dial in my setting then go for some more power or where ever it takes me
looking to see what everyone else does to help stage in big secondaries! let me know :)

Step #1 is to get the correct MS-specific dead-times and injector characteristics from ID's website. If you don't have these correct, you'll never get the staging correct. I had 2200/2200 injectors and couldn't feel anything when they staged and I believe my increments were 100/0, 75/25, 50/50. Meaning, it was very course and you couldn't even tell it was staged.

Got any example tables to compare? I've found that the more coarse i make the staging table, the smoother the transition is.. which seems backwards‽ I'm tempted to just figure out the points where I run out of primary, and just go right from 0 to 100% staged with no in-between

This is with 4x ID1000s

I found a 25 50 100 to work really well.

look in your logs for duty cycle.

With 2 id1000 all of your cells under 80kpa should be 0. At 90kpa do 25% 105kpa 50% and 100% wherever you logs say you need it..

If your duty cycles get really low you can dial the staging % back. 2 id1000 will get you to 200rwhp so youve got a lot of fuel to work with.

really? alright i made 235whp last time car was dynoed with 550/1600s changed to the ids due to them being easier to tune. are brand new and better technology for injectors

im guessing the 2 id1000s will be near max at 200rwhp? maybe 80 ish duty cycle?

i made 235whp at 5psi last time, so i imagine ill need some secondary injector to be safe at that boost

mikey D 02-03-19 10:41 PM

Yah the id1000 will be be nearing 80 duty cycle when boost starts coming on, you will want to blend the secondaries in before that. 80kpa would be a safe place to start blending.

This is what mine looks like currently. Thinking i might 0 out the 80 line. It doesn't seem to like low duty on the secondaries much

Thats a good example. If he had your injectors i would drop 95 kpa and add 105kpa in.

whats the duty on your primaries at 80 kpa?

issue i see having the secondaries come on that low is our progressive throttle bodies arnt feeding the secondarie ports heavly and i dont want pooling of fuel causing a untune able rich point or rich areas, this spring i will be seeing how far 1000cc primaries will go before getting high duty cycles then feeding in the secondaries and ramp them in when needed

mikey D 02-06-19 04:09 PM

I don't think you need to worry about fuel pooling at any rpm or kpa. Look at other people's maps, you can look In the haltech section for examples aldo, I don't think you want to wait till 100kpa or more to bring your secondaries in.

I'd add horizontal taper too

Shainiac 02-07-19 10:36 AM

That should work fine. I had my first step go from 0-25% to avoid having the secondaries stage in at a low pulsewidth where there may be non-linearity. I had no noticeable change in AFR when they staged in.
