megasquirt 2 without 2nd VR how to on an FC
Here is the parts To run a megasquirt 2 with extra firmware without having to add a second vr.
1.Rx8 trigger wheel 36-2-2-2 it will mount to the stock S5 or Above pulley. To mount it on an s5 front pulley you will need 4 washers as spacer in between the pulley and the trigger wheel. OR you can get the full function engineering kit and it come with brackets, wheel and sensor
2.For the VR sensor I'm using a for mustang V6 sensor because they are cheaper than the rx8 brand new and you can get the for less than 5 dollars at the salvage yard.
3.To mount the Vr sensor you will have to make your own custom mount i use the 2 holes that holds the power steering to mount my bracket. for best results i mounted the sensor with a gap thickness of a dime. i mounted my sensor with the same trigger angle as the rx8 i will most pictures soon.
Megasquirt modifications.
1.For V3.0 link VrOut to TSel and Link TachSelect to VrIn
2.Spark Outputs
We will need three ignition outputs, each with a 5 volt pull up.
Run a 1K resistor from the 5 volt source in the proto area or the right side of R24 to the top (negative) lead of D14, and run a jumper wire from the negative lead of D14 to IGN. This is spark output A.
Run a 1K resistor from the 5 volt source in the proto area or the right side of R28 to the top (negative) lead of D16, and run a jumper wire from the negative lead of D16 to IAC2B. This is spark output B.
Run a 1K resistor from the 5 volt source in the proto area or the right side of R25 to the top (negative) lead of D15, and run a jumper wire from the negative lead of D15 to IAC2A. This is spark output C.

(Red wire from the ignitor) Leading coil trigger pin 36
(White wire from the ignitor) Trailing coil select pin 29

The Zeal board is only required if you want to run the stock CAS.
That said, if you're going to put a crank wheel on, put on a 36-1 instead of an RX8 wheel. It will give you better resolution.
