Ignition only Megasquirt?
I'm thinking about putting a weber IDA setup on my car next year and wanted to gather some information. I know EFI is better, so don't bother telling me, I'm thinking about it because I eventually want to convert it to an EP racecar, and that's the hot ticket, so it makes sense.
Anyway, I was thinking that I could use a Megasquirt to handle the ignition so I didn't have to convert to a distributor and I'd get the benefits of a strong, programmable ignition, datalogging, a rev limit and such. The plan would be to get a TPS hooked up and run it in Alpha-N mode (I've read about the problems with running ITB's in speed density and want to avoid that). So what I'm wondering is would there be anything stopping me from running a Megasquirt for only the ignition? |
Nope, no problem, just don't hook up the injector pins to anything.

Cool, thanks. I didn't think it'd be a problem, but you never know.
