I believe i found a good ford tps with pn
Here is a link to a 3 wire ford tps of a 89 mustang with a standard part number. Does this suit the fc application with a "little massaging" as aaron cake puts it

Very awesome! Thanks for the link!
Would this be considered the best price for performance? Full range TPS? |
yes you could get them at local auto parts for around the same price.
|
Awesome! :) Guess I'll be picking one up this weekend.

I looked at a few 90s ford vehicle and they have the connector. So if you make a trip to the junk yard look for broncos and ofcourse mustangs
|
Or swap the connector with something more generic.
That's the TPS though. Often used in Haltech installations. A little grinding of the stock throttle shaft nut and it fits. Or if you intend to keep your S4 metering oil pump rod, wed a 2nd nut to the existing nut. |
Any possible picture of this "grinding?"
|
It's obvious once you see the TPS and the bolt. The bolt just needs to be ground a bit to fit the shape of the TPS socket.
|
I have one torn apart so I shall look at it the evening, thanks
|
Does anyone have a photo of it installed?
|
I Google image searched "rx-7 ford tps":

thank you for posting this. i have literally spent months trying to figure out which Ford TPS i need to get. no one had been able to furnish me with a part number. last week i finally decided to go on a tear and get a few TPSs and see if i could figure it out and my plan was to make thread similar to this. now i found this thread. :)
for the record, i have both the TH73 and TH29. i will try to put up photos of both, but for now, suffice it to say i think the TH73 may be better because it has bigger tabs and they are wedge-shaped. that's my personal thought, at least. the TH29 has smaller tabs and they are more squared. basically, the TH29 is very similar to the one in the link Aaron posted above me. the only difference is it does not have a connector, just free leads. everything else looks the same though. generally speaking, the TH29 and TH73 seem to average $20+ and $35+, respectively. however if you don't mind Ebay, they can be found cheaper though. i think i paid $13 for mine and i think i got my TH73 for like $26. great thread to reference if someone ever wants a comprehensive parts list. |
