FFE Hall effect sensor need pullup?

as title says does anyone know if there sensor needs the pullup? if it does not does it do any harm having the pullup installed? cheers

also I have a DIY auto tune loom. the ms3 loom already has the shielded wire installed for trigger input. Am I ok to use this or am I better to wire in another shielded into the ms3x trigger input. is there a benefit on using ms3x over ms3 for trigger?

i think that you dont need the pullup with the ffe sensor, use the ms3 loom thats your crank sensor input to wire the sensor, the ms3x its for a cam input.

If the sensor is three wire and has it's own supply via 5V or 12V, you don't need the pullup. If it is a two wire sensor, you do.

if it was 2 wire then it would be VR correct.i have 3 wire hall sensor it's just I read some have built in pull up and some need the jumper set up with pull up on proto area. . I built my ecu a while ago and the manuals have changed and through me off abit. I have made it with the pullup. so I will just de-solder it if it's not need with the FFE Hall sensor.

There are 2 wire hall sensors that require a pullup to supply power.

Generally 3 wire hall sensors do not require a pullup as they have a separate power wire.

VR sensors are 2 wire (at least I've never seen a 3 wire and can't imagine why someone would center tap a VR sensor coil).

Maybe best to just ask FFE what version you have.

I actually contacted FFE earlier this year about the same thing, and he said that the Hall Effect sensor has a built in pull-up resistor, so you don't need to add one. This is obviously assuming you have the 3-wire Hall Effect sensor and not the mag.

awesome I knew I had bought hall. Just unsure if it had the pullup in the sensor or not.
thanks I was going to contact ffe but thought someone else would have done a install before me and would be here for everyone else to see. it wasn't mentioned on there site or with any of the install documents.
