COP, rx8 mode, ms2v3
i am curious what some people are using for their dwell settings on this type of setup? i am chasing some break up issues above 6500 rpm i logged a pull and i am seeing dwell as low as 2.0 ms. i am using GM ls2 coils. the current settings worked well when i was NA but now that i am boosted i am having issues. my AFR are a pinch rich around 11-10:1 in boost, after talking to some guys at the track who were running an 8second rx3 they recommended i tune closer to 12:1 until 15lbs. seems a pinch lean but i am not scared to try. the car will free rev to the rev limiter 8500rpm

You do not want to go leaner. I did a quick search on dwell for the LS coils and the static dwell should be set to 5.5mS static. If you are having breakup, that sounds like a lack of spark energy. Try increasing the dwell and make sure you have good plugs.

I have tried 2 new sets of plugs. 14s and 9s. Same result. I data logged my battery voltage and it is @14+ across the board. I have my static dwell at 6ms and i am seeing 2ms around 7k rpm. Verified plug wires are helthy.

Were the coils new or used?

The coil were used but have worked flawlessly for over 2 years NA

NA doesn't have the same cylinder pressure as turbo. You want your coils to be able to fire even when the fuel mixture is as rich as 10.0, so you may need to replace the coils. The IGN 1A coils are a really good choice. I think the connectors are the same.

i am looking at changing to these now, want to get the car ready for TX2K in houston in 4 weeks and i am tired of chasing issues.
