cold start tuning help
When I start the car (cold), it will start just as it should...it'll idle for about a second or two and shut off. Then when I restart it, it'll idle no issue. What do I need to adjust so that it doesnt do this?? cranking pulse?

Probably afterstart enrichment. You'll get the best help if you post your msq and a data log.
Do you have a wideband O2 sensor connected to MS? |
Give it a little more cranking pulse. Extend the afterstart for more ignition cycles and add a bit more fuel.
Do you have an idle valve? |
adding 15% cranking pulse worked perfectly. Starts and idles without dying the first time now.
I do have a stock BAC valve, but I dont think it works :( I may have messed up the wiring. I'm not quite sure how to troubleshoot it...any help would be appreciated. |

I think that you can also use a small 12v lamp and see if it glows or dim at the same time the valve was supposed to open (a dashboard lamp will work). Did you check if there is any voltage on the BAC connector ? If not, than maybe a damage wire, or the MS. Other than that see if you change any setting. Regards. - |

Also, my answer will depend on what version of the MS you are running. For example, 2.2 and 3 boards require mods to run the BAC. 3.57 boards do not, MS3X does not, MS3-Pro does not. The BAC itself is two wires: IGN switch 12V on one side and the ECU on the other side (FIdle, Idle, Idle PWM Out depending on the ECU version). Doesn't matter the polarity. |
I thought the BAC required a diode facing one direction in order to work? it was part of your guide (at one point)
I am running a MS2 V3. |
Yep, the diode is needed.
