Changed from CAS/VR to Trigger wheel/Hall

And now I have no trigger signal at all. What am I missing?

MS2 V3 board, All wired per Aaron Cake's diagram (http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/Megasq..._schematic.gif) and worked fine with the CAS.

New setup is the full function engineering Hall trigger kit (13B FC/RE Trigger Hall | Full Function Engineering) wired up as per the diyautotune diagram (https://www.diyautotune.com/wp-conte...-thumbnail.jpg)

What I changed:
- Moved TACHSELECT jumper from VRIN to OPTOIN
- Moved TSEL jumper from VROUTINV to OPTOOUT
- Jumpered XG1 to XG2
- Removed the LM1815 chip from the proto area

And no dice. No signal at all on the high-speed logger. Picture of the board is before all the changes were completed, but gives you an idea anyways.

Hmm, do I need to remove all the stuff in step 50 B in the assembly guide "For triggering off the coil negative terminal/points:"? It looks like this board has most of those parts installed

I've already removed D1, but it looks like I need to remove C30 and C12 as well. I think that's the only other differences between the 50a and 50b circuits?

I flipped back to the VR circuit and adjusted the pots as per the manual, and it fired right up

Hmm your wiring changes look correct, with the board powered do you get 5V at "Tsel"? The hall sensor pulls the signal low through the optocoupler U3. Does the sensor put out a 5V signal? the notes on the V3 main board schematic says D1 and possibly D2 get jumpered to trigger the optocoupler.

Um, so FE's website doesn't say whether the hall sensor needs a pullup or has one in the sensor. I'm going to assume it has an internal pullup since I haven't heard pullups mentioned with the FE hall sensor before.

So, you should configure the Megasquirt as follows:
TACHSELECT to VRIN
TSEL to VROUT
Both pots about 12 turns counter-clockwise
R56 back now about 6 turns clockwise, which turns down the zero crossing detection

You may need to make more adjustments to R56.

For anyone interested in doing this conversion, I'm offering a bolt-on 6-Rib setup with higher fidelity trigger wheel + hall effect sensor that maintains AC and PS.
