Car won't start (maybe after a minute of cranking)

Hey there,
I'm in the middle of getting my rebuild S5 13B T2 FC running together with an MS3 Pro. It got all new Mazda OEM Seals, used housings and plates (good condition), big RB intake and exhaust streetports, lightweight flywheel. Other specs: ID1050x primaries ID1700 secondaries FFE 36-1 trigger wheel and hall sensor JDL MFG TPS bracket with Ford TPS AEM Smart Coils All Emissions removed/blocked BAC removed/blocked OMP removed/blocked (Premixing 100:1) Deatschwerks DW300 fuel pump running 50psi with fpr NGK BKR9EQ plugs (4x) We got it started and let it run for about 2 hours. Idle was okay but we had to dial it in via the throttle body screw to around 1300rpm. Temperatures were totally fine, 90° celsius on water and oil. But when we shut it off and tried to restart it, it didn't start fast at all. Had to crank it for at least 30 seconds (when hot). Also in cold conditions it wouldn't start without cranking for a minute or so (together with getting out the plugs and drying them/making them hot) Both starting procedures always with a jump starter pack on the battery. (Today an automatic 2kw starter will arrive which will help a little I guess) Is this normal for a fresh rebuild? Will it get better when compression rises? I have attached my basic MSQ (most tables are from Aaron Cakes write up) Thanks for the help. |
check compression.

It seems pretty easy to foul the spark plugs on a fresh engine if you just idle it.
