Maybe you guys can help me out with this..
What EGT,fuel pressure, oil pressure sensor should I get to work with the V88 ..? I will be using the factory TPS from my FD UIM and my Turbo II AIR temp sensor... Or I need to get new specific ones for this ECU? I also need a 4 bar map sensor, Can I used a generic one from AEM with the V88 ? Thanks in advance... |

and PS,, throw the t2 air temp sender in the bin.. find something not using the ND curve . IE,, something faster action with a delco curve so you can pull the calibration file in easily
( thinks the weapon of choice is from a bike like a triumph ) |

i am close to being finished w the wire-in. i am enjoying the work. it does take time but the ViPEC manual is very well executed and combined w the Mazda Wiring Shop Manual, a few emails to ViPEC which were answered the same day, searches thru the ECU Section, and help from fellow board member, the amazing, Chris Ludwig i am comfortable as to quality of execution to date. there are lots of unique items. four type K thermocouples (two EGTs, one intake air temp and one turbo output temp sensor) two Bosch Mazda RX8 knock sensors new type engine coolant and oil temperature sensors new Link ViPEC four bar MAP sensor four IGN-1A ignition coils (each w 5 wires that had to be soldered into their fittings) four new custom Primary spark leads two additional Bosch EV14 fuel injectors, one pre turbo, one in the elbow two new EV14 1000 for my primaries a new wide band featuring the uprated LSU 4.9 sensor and Bosch chip three digital/logging pressure sensors, oil, fuel and AI system new Full Function Eng primary and secondary fuel rails new Full Function Eng Hall crank pickup system new turbo manifold, new CHRA for the BW turbo, new engine i am sure i am missing a few items but trail's end is in sight. today i should finish the engine compartment and monday i will move to the cockpit... mainly connecting a number of relays... fuel pump, ignition coils & AI pump. then there's dealing w the dash items... tach speedo etc it sure isn't over but it has been fun and will be exciting to experience initial blastoff. there are a few issues i need to solve, mainly the fan hookup and dash items. when finished i will post everything needed to do the wire in as i have been carefully making notes. i can't wait to get to the point where i can install my transposed maps from my Power FC and turn the key. howard He never specify a brand of sensor he uses for the coolant temp, Air temp sensor or fuel press only the map sensor.... I don't want to order sensor and stuff from NZ I want to get it locally here in the USA if possible.... I am also looking for a EGT and flexfuel sensor...... delco curve is the resistance curve of the most common sender units
the information concerning this is readily avail .. the ECU must have the information about this so as to reproduce an accurate reading the FC air temp sender is a bastard.. it is a nippon denso unique curve and the best you will do for info is a very vague 3 plots and so your temperature reading in the ecu will be far from accurate the FD AIT sensor moved back to the common delco curve but is slow ( incidentally the FC and FD coolant senor has been delco curve all along ) the triumph part T1290510 is a much faster responding sender.. and uses the FD/ delco curve shape.. so you will have a better probe,, and infinitely more accurate calibration file |

I got a few questions answer by a Vi-Pec guru ( John Reed) ..... I am posting this for public knowledge..
Thanks John Reed for your time to answer all my questions about the V88... The V88 can used our OEM coolant temp sensor from a Turbo II and FD but not the AIT sensors... According to him is fine to used a GM AIT sensor and the 5 bar Map sensor from AEM ... Al pressure sensor from AEM or similar brands can be used with the V88 to monitor fuel and oil press and others... For EGT we need to get the RTD type sensor and not the K-Type ( the K-type needs a suitable amplifier to work) I hope this helps other.. Time to make my order.... |

Most parts and sensor are in.. Only thing missing is the EGT dual channel kit.. Be here by the end of the week..

I was talking to Simon fromViPec and found out that my V88 ECU needs to be send for a free Can upgrade.. This will allow me to integrate the Dash2 pro via CAN with the ViPec V88..
Hopefully I will have the Engine harness and sensors install ready in the car by the time the ECU get back from ViPec in New Zealand .. |

Finally all the parts are inn..
Racepak dash with ViPEC interface can cable.. I took the car on Sunday to Erick at Rotary Werks to start taking out the Microtech off the car.. Soon more updates.. Will be installing 2 1000cc injectors in the primaries injectors bank and moving the 2000cc to the secondaries injectors rail .. I will now have 8000cc in my secondaries fuel rail 😁 |
