Muscle car fun!
 

I thought you might like this i know i did. In the town i live in the north part of town is almost all muscle cars built for the track but driven on the street on sat. night and they will go run from the light by the airport in front of a convience store were everyone stands and watches. Anyway last night i was there in my red touring when someone tried to get a guys wife to run the red rx7 in her nitrous truck, she said i wouldnt waste my gas so i offered her a tank of 87 octane and she started with the excusses. Another guy said ill run that import, he had a purple 440 cuda big cam slicks hedders 150 shot and wheelie bars, most of the better than 100 people just snickered as we pulled up to the light. I ran him twice with the same result he pulled me one car at the start and in secound gear i pulled him by two cars and in third just keept pulling away. Needless to say the crowed went wild they are nice people but give no respect to any import, untill last night. I then ran a beautiful big block nitros truck i got beat but caught him in third as we had to shut down, if i had a full 1/4 mile i dont know i might have got him. There must have been a 100 people look under the hood and just shack there heads and say that car is bad. Anyway i hope you enjoy my night out with the 7!:cool:

Trying to explain a rotary motor to a red neck and you will get a headache, i just say its two doritos going round and round! But i have to admit we all shook hands and had a good time. But there is some 8 sec cars there and you dont want to play with them!:D

Im terrible at listing stuff but here goes, motor= cermet housings and rotors, big street port with large runners, litened t11 rotors, 3 mill seals, pinned, and pan braced, oil mods, haltech e6k kan tuned, delron motor mounts, solid trans mount, diff brace, t11 diff, stock axles, 28 11.50 et's, stock struts, koyo rad, 24x12x3 frount mount, turbonetics 62-1 96 ar, custom 3'' dp all ceramic coated, hks twin power, duel walbros with 850's and 1600's, I have made custom 2200 degree heat shealds for intake runner protection, forced induction and heat shield on intake air, 11.5 and 9 ngk's, taylor 10.5 wires, rps stage 3 6 puck, premix only, 98 oct blend, 20 lbs boost < made 420 at 14 lbs i dont know at 20 lbs> b&m shifter, I run a/c power steering and cruse control, line lock and brake prop. valve. The car runs very cool has never been over 190 degrees and runs cooler during hard pull. AFR 10.8 and 10.4 at 8000. Im sure i left something out but my head hurts$$$:eek:

Can you blame them? Have you seen most imports? Where I grew up there was a lot of racing. Every night we had at least a few Honda's and crap show up wanting to run. Now, the guys that raced in my area generally were running sub 10's and had no interest in waisting fuel on these stupid 15 second Honda's. That didn't stop them from trash talking everyone and everything in an attempt to make themselves feel better. It got to the point I would bring my 300ZX or 240Z a long just to destroy a few of them. At least if they got embarrassed they would go home.

You have a very nice car and it sounds like a nice build. Do you have any more pics of your engine/car?

I didn't say but im 58 years old and i dont know shit about computers, but i will have one of my young friends post some picts. And i know about the hondas, the same night a friend from KC was there with his new buscher street evo was owned by busher, it runs 10.8 or better. The crowed of people got a fair idea of the way imports can run. Once again they were respectful but only after they say the runs. And i dont blame them since there used to 140 hp hondas that break axles! Im always asked why do i at 58 drive the rx7? Ive had about everything else and there is never a dull moment in the rx7, you have to drive this car not just push the gas. It will take you places you dont want to go if you dont watch it. About half of my relatives live near you in Joplin....

Im sure they go to MoKan raceway. Its ok but the rx7 group here is pretty slim they meet sometimes but hardly ever have a car running. So im left to run turboed mustangs ls1's and a bunch of hard core muscle cars, a guy can get hurt. There is some badass cars here. I also helped start 417 motorsports and there doing some very kool stuff 1200 hp supras, 1000 hp ls1 240sx , rwd gt 42 4g63, twin turbo 2002 trans am, 2004 turboed c6, something all the time. Ill get some picts this weekend!

DAMN!!! Your car is just pure sex to HEAR about. MUST SEE VID THOUGH!!! I've got to hear it!

Your car launches hard.

Its only taken 14 years to get the shocks worn to the point they hook good. lol And the 11.5 et's help at 7,000 or above. Its going into the body shop this weekend for a complete redo then it wont look like a racoon. Thanks for your help i need to learn a few things about picts and vids. I have some picts of the motor i want to post as im proud of the cooling mods and shields i built!

I have always loved to race 1/4 mile from 16 years old, and i learned its not beating someone thats important but shareing the fun and excitment of racing. I will even help someone to beat me if i can thats fun too, and then try to beat them. But i dont like trash talkers that think your beat before the run i try to be modest and just injoy what the sport has to offer! The rednecks i talked about are good ole boys and give respect if you earn it, but if you dont they give major shit! Thanks again.

damn charlie, sounds like i missed out on a good time. my car's still running good and im still gettin everything back in shape. this working everyday isnt very good for progress on the car. congrats on the win. now you need to chase down that single turbo V10 F150!!

I talked to Kan fri night and he is not going to St Louis you need to talk to him about tunning your car. Im glad its still running good thats a big plus. I love talking about this stuff as long as its interesting!
