I ran a 9.2 second Camaro...........
HAHA. This is me at Gateway International Raceway in Madison IL (STL, MO). This is when I borrowed my buddies street slicks. They were Hoosier 26x9.5x16 slicks for a cobalt SS. Anyway I was still on my stock rearend. (Fully built Ford 8.8" is going in this winter). I babied the launches, this car has so much left in it still even at low boost. Before I had the slicks on I was running 22psi and trapping over 132mph in the 1/4mile. For this video I was only running 20psi. I race the camaro towards the end. lol my 11.5 to his 9.2 atleast I beat him out of the hole...... :rlaugh:

Don't have sound right now, but good runs....
Why were you babying the launches? Is it the stock rearend/suspension holding you back and you didn't wanna skip? I'm hoping on getting the same turbo. ;) ;) |

i cant believe that there is a 7mph difference in his trap speed with only 2 psi change.
Based on 2800 lb race weight this is how it calculates, not that I know all the variables, but trap speed calculators are pretty good. ET calculators can be all over the place. 125 mph = 432 wheel HP, 20 psi 132 mph = 509 wheel HP, 22 psi 136 mph = 562 wheel HP, 24 psi |
Nice runs.... lots left in her for sure, I ran 11.4@123mph with 14psi on that setup. The trick is having a diff that can handle a 7000rpm drop clutch launch, with the power you put down on the dyno you should be deep into the tens with a 1.5 60ft. BTW what 60ft were you cutting??
|
Damn good times considering how you were babying the launches. Funny watching the Ford truck and the family sedan at the track. That's hilarious.

The more traction you have the slower your trap speed will be, while the less traction the faster you'll trap, but slower ET. It's not really the 2psi making the huge difference, it's the tires. |

best was a 1.79 but most were 1.8s. I was scared to break the diff.
