future race. 420hp scooby wagon vs my turbo fb.

who do you guys think will win?
scooby~
we are both pretty good drivers, the scooby owner is a little more reckless then I am from storys I have heard. I went for a ride today in his car, pretty fast, I thought my car spooled quicker and pulls harder but We had three people inside so with only a drived it will be faster. Pulled nice tho. Apparently its tuned for meth injection and runs alot of boost with a TD06 turbo i believe. 414 all wheel power. 3100 pounds with driver??? stock trans; fly; and clutch. Car is somewhere in the 12's but without a upgrade drivetrain their is no slips.

~FB
mods in sig, 8.5 pound fly, 6 puck clutch, ported fd uim, ported wastegate, ebc set to either 10 or 13psi and a weigh of around 2300 with driver. Major traction loss and car has 13.3 1/4 times. 303rwhp on a conservative dyno.

I think we are going to race from a 60 roll since neither of us wanna tear our shit up from a standing start, especially with the brand new diff I'm putting in the next week.
I think I have him. I will report back with the outcome once it goes down.

SleepeR1st 02-22-08 09:41 PM

You have a LOT less weight than him. I think he'll be seeing your tails :icon_tup:

Killert2 02-22-08 11:00 PM

He might get you cause if he runs in the 12s in the 1/4 and your in the 13s in the 1/4 but it just might come down to the driver

TheDriver216 02-22-08 11:11 PM

from a roll FB... from the stand still ur car better spool pretty quick or AWD FTW...

LT1 RX7 02-22-08 11:42 PM

What's with all of the "what if" stories? Just race the guy and post the results. This is the KILLS section. . .not the who do you think will win section. :wallbash:

zack4173 02-23-08 12:56 AM

I think that you will beat him the subies dont have much top end power they only get good quarter mile runs if they launch well because above 80 they bog down hard. Let me know when your gonna race him though I want to see.

1.3Ldreamcar 02-23-08 10:09 PM

ohhhhh... a gripping intrigue!!!

I think the subie will take you... 414hp... when at a roll I would think the power factor would win.... although 800lbs is a big diffrence as well....

I await your post!!!

93rx74lyfe 02-25-08 11:24 AM

Just race it and post results.

KhanArtisT 02-25-08 01:37 PM

What was your trap speed? Don't be impressed by the ET, it'll usually be higher than a RWD street car just because of the traction. Local WRX here ran a 13.6@97 and my friend in his 3000GT (FWD) ran a 14.7@97. From a roll I think you'll pull ahead depending on what your trap speed was. What speed are you racing up to?

notveryhappyjack 02-26-08 03:43 PM

ok so the plot thickens, I have another car to add to this race, a twin 350z. A while back he was talking some shit about how he raced me on the highway and "killed" me, To me it was one of those ricer races where the person you think you are racing actually let off then you fly by them and counted it as a kill.

It was some bs, I was actually racing z-beater in his single rew swaped fb. Me and dave hit the gas and went for it, we took it up to like 85-90 ish and let off, when a second later the twin 350z owner did a ricer fly by. What got me is I talked with him later that day and he never mentioned us racing. A few days pass and another friend from the z fourm forwards me this guys 'kill' list and I was on it lol.

So yeah, my turbo fb (2250lb and 303whp) vs scooby wagon (3165lb 414awhp) vs twin turbo 350z (3200lb 445whp)

I really don't expect to beat the z since he has almost 150whp on me but I'm almost sure I can take the scooby-roo. The race is going to be a 3rd gear 60 roll, the scooby owner told me that was out of his powerband but I don't care I think that is a good starting point. I love the quick spool T04B s trim turbo and tricked wastegate ;) when matched with the 8.5lb fly wheel and 6 puck clutch I should be prime and ready for some upsets.

My differential is being rebuilt this week and I should have it in the car by sunday, I'm ask the diff shop if any, how many miles break in do I need to do before I let her rip. I'm try and get a friend to video tape this race and will get it on youtube for you all to see.

notveryhappyjack 02-26-08 03:47 PM

here are slips and dyno results from last time it was tuned by steve kan

Lots of wheel spin through 1st and 2nd, I would really like to see what drag tires would make the number drop to.

notveryhappyjack 02-26-08 03:55 PM

no clue what speed the race will end at, I know that I'm going to go until I can see a deffinative winner. No more then 115 - 120 range, I can already guess about where my top speed is (165ish) and I'm not really trying to take the fb there on a public street. Especially since it would be very stupid and with out downforce aids, plain scary.

Brismo7 02-26-08 04:04 PM

wow, kind of an exciting race this is going to be. ehhh, sorry for sounding like yoda :lol2:

really, i think your just slightly outclassed here. i think you need to bump up the HP a lil bit more and show these fools your tail lights. if you could make 400hp, you would smoke them on the highway and make them feel stupid. I love it when old school cars like yours is taking out modern, boi racer type cars.

Like i said, you just need a lil more hp and you should be golden, maybe if you race and lose, you will be tempted to bump up the boost, or do a slightly more agressive port. :)

GL with your race.

oh and btw, i dont think they will demolish you either, i just think they are going to start pulling and walking away. that is my prediction.

Upgrayedd 02-26-08 05:33 PM

Zack I don't agree with your comment about top end power drop off. We're talkin about Subis, not Evos... Highway pulls a powerful Subi can destroy my FD as if I'm standing still/ As I think Aaron's FB would do as well having ridden in it. The way the car was built and it's broad powerband would make it a very close race. I think Aaron might have the edge initially. At 60mph that car hits boost immediately and pulls hard.

Aaron's quarter mile times don't do justice to how fast this car is on the highway. Our 1/4 times are very close from before I added a few mods to my FD and where my FD sits right now I'm pretty sure Aaron's car would destroy my FD on the highway... It's scary quick.

And Aaron the 350z douche can finally post about a REAL race ;) I think you're right that he'll take you. Quick spool twin turboed setup and it looked pretty quick when he made his flyby's that he called races.

1.3Ldreamcar 02-26-08 09:57 PM

ummmm... so let me get your set-up straight..... its a 13brew single turbo, with a power FC and all supporting mods.....
how the hell are you only making 300rwhp!??!?!

notveryhappyjack 02-27-08 01:20 AM

Like I said and mr. kan said the dyno used to tune the car is %15 conservative, if your interested in what a guy who has tuned hundreds of cars on every dyno out there has to say do the math, me I personally don't care about that number, its funnier to tell people that it 'only' has 300 and then take them for a ride.

The engine has a stock port, and its not the rew engine thats z beater car. I just have the FD uim and elbow. This may be why the hp numbers are slightly disappointing to some.

Tim your right, the car is scary fast or in the words of the 350 owner "that thing is fast"

Brismo7 02-27-08 01:07 PM

well that is awesome on your behalf. maybe you'll actually be able to shut these fools down. Definitely record it and post up. even if you lose. Dont be embarresed. you'll atleast be able to claim you have a lot less hp :bigthumb:

It's a 13bt with a modified S5 turbo and 13b REW upper intake mani tuned at 13psi ~ 303whp on a 15% conservative reading dyno. So it's more around 325whp.

Aaron, see if you can get Suprfast93 to join in ;)

notveryhappyjack 02-27-08 03:19 PM

ohh yeah, I remember he wanted a peice of that cocky z owner. I should pm him. I'm currently trying to fab up a camera mount to the roll bar in the turbo fb, one for me and one for dave so we can start recording kills.

tim, doesn't the rew intake have the 13B squential twin turbo tag on it ? I though I have the re intake.

Upgrayedd 02-29-08 03:43 PM

No, you have gthe REW manifold. The 13b RE has the large cylinder plenum with the 13b Seqeuential Twin turbo tag on it and larger runners.

lol ohh I have no doubt that your car is scary fast! hell my 160hp FB was fast! :P

Well im actually not too sure about hp#s for S4 motors. I thought you where running a full REW set-up, but i see thats not the case.

anyways, Still anctiously awaiting the race results ;)

notveryhappyjack 03-02-08 08:36 PM

its an S5 block and rotors with a fd uim, tuned with a FD power FC engine management. frankenstien set up

Got the brand new diff back in the car tonight, thing is so tight, there is no wasted movement and it should get me some great traction. Anyway I had a set back when I broke a bolt off in the rear end housing. Tommorow I'm going to try and easy out the broke stud and find the correct bolts for the new driveshaft flange and yoke.

BoostedFd3s 03-02-08 08:48 PM

lets see a vid dammit!!

evokilla_1222 03-03-08 05:37 AM

vid ftw

LT1 RX7 03-03-08 10:34 AM

Let me get this straight. You posted this "question" on the kills section, and you still haven't raced anyone? ? ?
