Camaros also put power to ground better than the vettes. Something to do with the drivetrain...

How much is the new one supposed to weigh? Have they released that yet? I'm dying to know for sure.

I'm not very good at drag racing. More of a road course/canyon guy myself. So odds are, you'd catch me sleeping and be reaching for 2nd gear already, and I'd have to play catchup. :rlaugh: Usually when my Corvette is running down heavily modded cars, my friend who I got the car from, is driving. He's been drag-racing for almost 20 years and with the same car would beat me by a couple car lengths at least. :wallbash:

I heard the new Camaro was going to be between 3600-3900lbs. Nobody on the Corvette forum is commenting on how 'light' the Camaro is going to be. Only how good it looks, and how much power will be under the hood. While I'd like to think those are important reasons for wanting a performance car, I like to have something that's a bit lighter...

3900 pounds would qualify as a pig.

Not in my circle. Even my drag-racing friend with his 98' Mustang GT admits the pork as it goes up.

When you have a 427 powered corvette weighing around 3100lbs, you'd have to have 2 guys in it, of average weight(if not more) to equal an empty camaro or mustang. :rlaugh:

That's a muscle car for ya.
I still want one.
But I highly DOUBT it will weigh more than the previous gens. It's just not likely to step back in time.
